We have booked our trip for the week after thanksgiving. I was debating should we try to do a waterpark or not?? We are only there for 4 full days. I just wanted the opinions of you veterans!!!! I actually thought about a 3 day hopper plus one for the waterpark or a 4 day hopper and forget the waterpark!! Help! I also have heard the weather can be rather cool at times.

We were concerned about this as well. We haven't been to the water parks ever. We don't know if we will go this time, but when we talked to a cm when I ordered our MMVMCP tickets, I asked him about the water parks and swimming. He did state that the water is heated. I hope this helps. We may visit one but we will be there for 7 days in early December. Some friends may go and we are thinking of going to Universal one day. That leaves 6 days to do 4 parks.. So who knows.

I think it may depend on how flexible your schedule will be. When we were there last Dec, there were some days where it was pretty cool and others where it was warm - definitely pool weather. If you are flexible on what day you go to a water park, it is a possible thing.

There were people using the water park when we were there (we had to stop there on the bus ride from DD) and that day it was warm enough that my ds's went swimming at the resort. However, if it was a definite that you had to schedule a specific day to go, you may find that day to be cooler and thus not really a day you would want to spend in the water all day (even though it is heated, the air may be pretty cool).

We were in Disney 11/16/02 - 11/23/02, and the temps were in the mid to low 80's during the day. We always schedule at least one day to do a water park when we are in Disney, and this trip was no exception. Most of the week the temps were as stated, though on the one day we had scheduled to do BB, it was a little to cool, but no big deal; we just changed our schedule and did BB the next day. I would say that later in the day when the sun starts to go down, it does get a little cooler. From what I've read and experienced temps in Nov/Dec fluctuate each year and are somewhat unpredictable. So bear in mind that you may not be able to swim the exact day you want to, but hopefully the weather will cooperate enough and you will be able to do a water park at leat one time during your trip.

We went Dec 2000 and Nov. 2002. Both trips were in the 80's. Plenty warm enough. Set aside a few hours to check it out!

We were there Nov 2002, too, for 10 days including Thanksgiving week. While there were days that got warm enough in the afternoon, we didn't feel it was warm enough to swim. The mornings and evenings were cool. Thanksgiving night was just cold. My in-laws from Minneapolis were, like us, wearing jackets and jeans in the evenings. My fil bought a jacket at WDW, because a sweatshirt wasn't warm enough for him in the evenings (not to mention he really liked the jacket). They agreed that you could've probably gotten in a heated pool SOME days in the 11-3 range, but overall it was not great swimming weather. Factor in where you live, and be flexible. I remember that the morning of Thanksgiving, my dd had to wear leggings under her Cinderella gown, a tee under it, and a sweatshirt over it. Every morning my boys were wearing sweatshirts with their t-shirts and shorts until it warmed up. At night we bundled up again. The day after Thanksgiving never got warm enough to shed the layers. My in-laws commented that it was not as warm as they'd expected, although it was certainly much nicer than where they lived. All of us had hoppers with plus options to use at water parks and had hoped to do just that. We were also flexible enough to leave the parks for a swim, but we weren't even tempted. Be prepared, so if the weather is warm enough for you that you can, but have a plan so that not going won't leave a hole in your vacation. I'd consider swimming a bonus, not a given, at that time of year.

We've been to the water parks in Nov, Dec and Jan. No problem any time. If the air temps are cool, you are okay in the water since it is heated. You just need to wrap up as soon as you get out.

We are struggling with this same question. We have been to WDW the last 2 years the day after Thanksgiving for 10 days. Last year it was not watm enough any of the 10 days to do the waterparks...and, for what it is worth, we have a cottage on the shore of Lake Superior which is really cold all summer and we manage to swim...plus we seldom get as warm as most areas of the US....and it was too cold for us.

In Dec 2002, there were 2 days of the 10 that we used the pool and 1 day that I would hae considered the Waterparks..

I do know that last year was a crazy year for weather as it was in the low 30's a few nights we were there,.

I think alot of this is were you are coming from. For instance, I am from Massachusetts, when we left here, we were used to temps around 0 for the day. My dad and I went to Typhoon Lagoon and the temp was only 70. Normaly, that is too cool to swim, but they heat the water and 70 was pretty warm for us since it was the begining of the trip. However, by the end of the trip, it would have been difficult. Plan on it, you should be fine from NC. One poster who thought it was too cold was from TX;)

We went the first week of December last year. It was way too cold for the water parks. I brought the suit just in case, but it was long sleeve weather. One day it got warm enough for short sleeves and some brave kids were in the pool at our resort, but I didn't even miss the water.

But its been in the 80's in January in PA before, so it could be just the same in Fl. I'd at least have a backup plan.

Ooh, I got an idea. Just plan on buying day tickets at the water parks, and if its too cold, go to Disneyquest instead and buy dad tickets there.
