I fancy tacking the plunge and trying a water park for the first time in December :)

I guess if it's a bit chilly the water parks won't be that busy, the Blizzard Beach will be nice in December with all the snow :)

Anyone been to a water park in December? - is the water heated?

Hi Tim!

We went last December when the weather was less warm than usual for that time of year.

The advantage was that there were no queues whatsoever - it was hard to spot another guest actually!

The water did not sppear to be heated on the rides and when you got splashed it was chilly!

We did venture into the main pool but again it felt pretty chilly - whether it was heated or not I could not tell you but I would guess not?

I think all the people in the waterpark were British (all 9 people in total ;) )

We went twice and to be honest it was a bit too chilly for me to say we really enjoyed it (it was fun but not as much fun as usual) but as I said above the weather was unseasonably cold, even for December :)

Cheers

Karen

Hi Tim
We were also there last December and did Typhoon Lagoon. Didn't think it was too cold but would have stayed away during our second week.
Just to warn you that the parks close for refurbishment so you may find one is closed. From memory it was going to be BB that was open up until and after Christmas

Clare if you did TL I am thinking you were there at the beginning of December as I remember TL closing a day or two after we arrived? We arrived on the 9th to glorious weather but it all went downhill from then, LOL

It was far too cold for us when we were there.

one december we were there it was unseasonably warm the entire time...
wonderful weather and we made 3 trips to the waterpark...

another year we were there in December, it was so cold that the kids had on their snow parkas, hats and mittens....(and all the orange trees in florida also froze that year)....

so you never know...
