Waterpark only trip

Very doable. Buses go to the water parks. Blizzard Beach sometimes shares with Animal Kingdom so you might stop at AK before getting to BB or after BB but before heading to your hotel. Typhoon Lagoon sometimes shares with Disney Springs and there are times in the afternoon that you had to take a bus to Epcot from TL ad get a bus there for your hotel (don't know if this is still the same way), but you will absolutely be able to get on a bus from your hotel that will get you to a water park and on a bus from the water park that will help you get you to your hotel.

Also trying to skip paying for park hopper...with the water parks and more ticket I think we can go to MK the same day as a water park? I got the impression it's considered separate and park hopper is for the 4 main parks.

You're correct. PH is for the 4 main parks. You can absolutely go to a water park (or any other "Fun" admission - or even more than one) on the same day you go to a main park, and not need PH.

Correct. If you got, for example, a 6 day base ticket with the water parks and more option, you can go to one park on 6 different days as well as a water park 6 different days.

My kids love the water parks (we've visited all of them in Orlando, Disney and non) and we did a 5 day trip one September with only water parks planned. We took one day off and hung out at our resort (off-property-the Holiday Inn Orange Lake resort next to Animal Kingdom). My husband played a round of golf every morning before we headed out to the water parks and we had a blast. They water parks close at 5 or 6 pm depending on the time of the year. We went to downtown Disney several nights for dinner. We did a few International Drive area attractions- Pirates Dinner show, Ripley's believe it or not, Titanic Experience....my kids were 7 and 9 at the time and loved it. It was a very relaxing trip compared to our usual commando style of main park touring...and much easier on the pocket book.

Slight difference.

Main themeparks with that ticket you get 6 days. But you get 6 waterpark admissions. You could hit MK in the morning (one day off the 6 main park portion) then go to both water parks the rest of the day (two admissions off the "fun" part of the ticket). No hopper required.

Good correction. Thanks. :thumbsup2

We considered it for this year actually! We are cruising out of Miami and I was disgusted at the cost of WDW tix for 8. We have leftover "and more" non-exp tix for most of us for at least one day.

If you have a car I strongly recommend Aquatica. They have some really novel slides, and the water is heated. And an all day beach buffet that didn't break the bank.

Uh oh...first time planning on trying water parks. Are they doable with buses? Didn't budget for a car...

Yes, you don't have to have a car- it's just easier. Maybe bring a sweatshirt to cover up on the bus ride home, as the buses feel cold after the waterparks.
