Watermelon

I was just thinking as I sit here at my computer eating watermelon...do y'all like watermelon?

As a southern girl, I've loved it my whole life. When I was little and I'd taste something good, I'd say, "hmmm, almost as good as watermelon juice!"


Watermelon makes me smile! lol jp

My DFIL used to grow watermelons on the farm in the past...so my DH knows how to pick them really well by just tapping them...He sure can pick the sweet ones out of the bunch...yummy.

I like GOOD watermelon. NOT grainy watermelon... Firm, flavourful flesh...Ripe and red, lots of juice... SO TASTY... with a little salt and a little pepper. Very Tasty!

well, we got a good watermelon because my Dad runs a trucking company, and we are beginning to haul them.

I bought one from Costco about a week ago...but I think it was imported

My DFIL used to raise them in the summers since that is when most people want them...

yes, DD and I both love watermelon. can't wait until summer so we can have some. especially since they are talking about 7 inches of snow for us.

there is a winter storm watch for us right now.

LOVE it - but only outside! So messy! And please don't use a fork! LOL

That's why you slice it in thin manageable slices or cubes, then you won't get messy at all!

I LOVE watermelon. My dh and I ALWAYS compare all of the watermelon we eat to one we had many years ago. It was the very very best watermelon in the whole entire world. It was one of those huge long ones and we cut it in half in order for it to fit in our fridge so we sampled it to start with....then it was just so good we just stood there at the counter and ate the whole watermelon!!! We never even sat down or put it on a plate or anything!!! We each had a fork and a knife between us and we ate and ate and ate and had watermelon juice all over us and the floor!!! We have never had a melon as good as that one and i has beed about 10 years since we had that one. Now when we get one we both take a bite and look at each other and say..."Yeah that one is pretty good but.............it will NEVER compare to THAT watermelon"!!!!!





Of course then we were going to the restroom to "tinkle" the rest of the night!!!
