1) Is there bottled water available on the Disney Dream?
2) If not, can you bring your own?
3) If so, is there a mini fridge in all rooms?

yes there is water available to purchase on board however it is not cheap. i just preordered a case of 24 for our cabin and it was $35 plus tax plus tip. I think the grand total came to $43. i could check if you wanted an exact but it was in that area. you can also purchase a pack of 6 if you wanted less.

you can bring your own if you like but you must carry it on to the ship yourself. each cabin has a small fridge in it.

When we were the. Magic a few years back...we made a pit stop in Key West at a local CVS and grab some water and Gatorade.

As previous poster said they have water just a little pricey. :thumbsup2

Bottled water us good for shore trips but the water on the ship is of a very high quality and nice to drink you no not need bottled water bar for drinking in ports.

To be honest the water out of the tap is excellent and is made the same way many bottled waters are made. We bring 1, 6 pack of bottled water and then refill from the tap.

Please note you have to carry on the water, not allowed to put it in checked luggage. The carry on must also fit though a standard airport scanner and then you have to carry it around until your cabin is ready.

Have a great cruise.

The ship's water is equal to filtered waters like Dasani and Aquafina. We bring our Brita bottles and use them on the ship and fill them to take with us on excursions. I am very picky about the taste of water so trust me when I say there is no reason to buy/bring bottled.

Thanks. I only drink water, rarely pop or juice, so wouldn't want to overload on that and get sick.

And I have a sensitive stomach so don't like drinking water other than bottled. But I don't want to carry it around until the room is ready!!!

What about for brushing teeth? Is the water from the tap ok for that?

Definitely.

I am really picky about water too and the water on the ship didn't have a funny taste or anything.

We did have a carry on (that we tried to put everything in!) and it was SO heavy. It really did put a damper on our time before the room was ready. Just keep that in mind. Next time I am traveling light (travel sized everything and less of everything!).

Enjoy your cruise! :thumbsup2

Most bottled water is just highly filtered tap water. Dasani, Aquafina, even 2/3 of every bottle of Poland Spring...they are all just filtered water. The ship's water is the exact same thing. Unless you only drink bottled spring water (ie Evian) there is no need to bring bottled water on board.

Disney offers Evian for sale on board. You can buy single bottles at the bars or a case to keep in your room. I believe it runs about $35 per case.

:thumbsup2 This!

Here's the deal: The ship makes water by boiling off seawater. The only thing in the steam is water: everything else is left behind, including the salt. Bottled water would love to be as pure as the ship's water.

Taste is certainly subjective, but I suggest you try some of the ship's water before you spend your money on expensive cases of bottled water. As far as safety, nothing is safer than water that was collected from steam.

Another super picky water drinker and I loved the tap water on board, straight out of the sink in the bathroom of my stateroom. It's treated through a reverse osmosis system and tastes just like the filtered water we have here at home That's the exact same process used for bottled water too like aquafina as a previous poster said. Save your $$ for other things.

Soooooo....is it this??

The video will show cases of bottled water being taken by porter. Just put extra luggage tag on it.

Or this??

I know the porters don't work for Disney, they'll take it. I know what the official policy is (carry it on yourself)... but...do the cases actually get delivered to the staterooms when a luggage tag is attached?

at one point the cases where taken by porters and delivered but that did change. I don't think (didn't when I asked) they take it anymore so not sure what the video posting was about. i'm not about to watch it all the way through to see if a porter happened to take it.

if your not prepared to carry it with you I wouldn't take it cause chances are you will have to.

…and if they find that your case of water or suitcase with checked liquids caused a problem you are responsible if you damage other's luggage.

Follow the rules. Carry it on. Don't be the reason that Disney has to crack down and change the rules. :(

Just quoting the rules. Remember that the porters work to the vessel side port, after that DCL takes over. The Porters may gladly take your water or whatever and get their tips, frankly they don't care after its on the loading racks and onboard the vessel.

I am sure sometimes the water does get to your cabin, but depending on a video is by far not a guarantee! (lets face it if you look long enough you can find a video online showing almost anything.)

THIS!

And it's not like it would be hard to track down which palette of water it was (or bag with other liquid in it). Look for the damaged palette and look at the tag on it. Bingo, you have your culprit!

I know I would NOT be a happy camper if my luggage showed up wet and damaged because some person who thinks it's all about them couldn't follow the rules.

If you drink a lot of water I would suggest bringing re-useable bottles on board. There are two beverage stations on the pool deck that are free to use throughout the cruise. It will be a lot cheaper than buying the Evian available.
