Water, water, everywhere?

Hi there,

We are trying to avoid using the lockers at all costs. Have purchased flat plastic water holders that, after use, can be rolled up and placed in our "3 clasp" fanny packs. :thumbsup2

Wondering what places, if any, can one get free cold water in either park?

Leaving in a couple of days, all insight appreciated.

Cheers,
Zebsterama

Fanny packs have to go in lockers too.

If they are humongous fanny packs, yes, but not the typical ones.
I believe water is free everywhere (fountain, not bottled).

Has anyone used a small 3 prong fanny pack recently? I called guest services a few days ago and was told they were no longer allowed on EFG and FJ (those were the 2 rides I specifically asked about). I am curious if anyone has been recently on these two rides and wore a fanny pack.

Well, just remember that any place you go to that has water will have their own cups. They aren't going to fill your containers. There are drinking fountains around, though.

I understand that there are self serve coke stations that dole out free water - we couldn't for example use any of those to fill up on water?

We're still going to buy drinks at the park - just trying to avoid checking stuff into the lockers and staying hydrated in the July Florida sun.

Yes the freestyle machines have cold, filtered water and ice available even without the pay for refill cups.

This is by no means a comprehensive list, but here's where I can remember they are at:

At the Studios, inside to the right in Monster's Cafe.
Inside louie's pizza.
Inside Richter's Burger.
Outside near the smaller food area next to Lombard's Landing. (Right before you enter "London")
The drink stand just on the opposite side of the restrooms in London, and near Fear Factor. (To the left of the bridge)
The drink stand right across from Men In Black.
Mel's Drive In.
There may be one in Kidzone as well, but I can't recall. There are absolutely no coke products in London/Diagon Alley. (Even the Disani Water)

At IOA:
I know of ones at the kabob stand next to the fountain in Lost Continent.
At Moose Juice/Goose Juice in Suess.
At the Drink Stand between Thunder Falls and the Entrance to Jurassic Park River Adventure.
And several of the restaurants.
I know I'm missing more locations in Islands, but those are the ones I remember. (Particularly in Marvel and Toon Lagoon draw a blank, but I believe they exist there as well)
Again, none in Potter per J.K. Rowling's insistence on no Coke.

I assume that if you went into the hogs head or the three broomsticks or one of the many pubs in diagon alley they would give you a free cup of water don't you think?? Or not?

Someone else contacted guest services a couple of months ago and was told they weren't allowed either but there doesn't seem to have been any change at the rides.

But putting a roll up water container up to a self serve machine would be...kinda unsanitary, wouldn't it? Those mouthpieces on the ones I've seen aren't that big.

I choose to put bottled spring water into our igloo MaxCold backpack so we can have water on demand. Using a locker for that on a relative few rides in the park isn't a problem for us. (We are also in a situation where DH car yet ride the big rides so I DS insists on a ride we hand stuff off to DH)

Yes they will give you a cup of water, and we actually bought one of the big red cups specifically to get water at drink kiosks, but we like having the water right there with us (except for in line at mib, etc) instead if having to wait in line for it.

That would be pretty gross. :lmao: The ones we have, the top which includes the mouth-piece actually screw off, providing a decent sized hole to put the water in .... so there will be no swapping of spit with our fellow Universalites :rotfl:.

Thanks for all of the responses! Only one more sleep till we go!

Wow! Awesome response! Thank you very much for taking the time.

It's been a few years since we were there although returning in a little over a week but I seem to recall that you could get a free cup of cold water at almost any cart or counter restaurant by just asking for it, we didn't know this at first but an attendant put us on to it don't know if that is still the case but it was nice not having to carry bottle around, we are trying to avoid using lockers especially for the Harry Potter rides, does anyone know will they allow you to carry a water bottle on a ride and just put it in the small pockets in front of you

It is still same policy
Free cups of water in the parks

Just ask and you will get it and no limits

Now they have the Coke freestyle machines that you can get ice cold filtered water too. Just get a plastic water cup from an TM and have as much as you like.
