Hopefully I am done asking you guys so many questions after this one :)

What do you do with water rides - wear ponchos (if so the dollar store kind or nice ones?), bring a change of clothes, walk around with wet undies until you dry??

PONCHS! We have some ones that reach to about mid-thigh (I'm 6'2") with hoods. Dudley DoRght is tough to stay dry but if you wrap the poncho around you before you sit you won't get too wet. Same for Popeye.

We often go the wet undies route. However, it is a good idea to wear your bathing suit underneath and then you can just wring out the wet stuff and put them back on. This seems to be a popular way to go.

Ahhhhh....we just returned and of course the Bilge Rat Barge was DD's favorite ride (and I loathe water rides). But, I charged on like a good mommy and rode it three days in a row, no less than 4 or 5 times a go. BUT, we rented a locker for an hour ($3...although on this ride the center stow seemed to keep things pretty dry) and just rode 'til our hour was up and then headed back to the hotel. We all wore duo dry material clothing and we all have keens, so we weren't completely uncomfortable, but I don't like to walk around all drippy so we always did this last and then headed back to HRH.

I have to say, I don't think the ponchos helped on either ride. We have a few poncho wearers on the raft ride and then still ended up pretty wet.

I say JUST DO IT :)

I would bring the pancho's and extra clothes, those rides at IOA get you soaked. When I went there this past June, it rained in the afternoon so we just went on the ride as is, since we were soaked already. :)

Panchos are for pansies!!! :laundy: The wetter, the better!

LOL!!! :rotfl2:

We love water - our trip was going to be ALL water parks but with the townhouse having a splash pool, I killed 2 water parks and added US and IOA. Guess I didn't change things up too much after all LOL

We stay at the HRH so that is a wonderful thing for after getting soaked. We actually all wear bathing suits. The guys wear their suits with tee shirts and our daughter wears her bathing suit top under a tank top and has water shorts that dry quickly. I have a bathing suit from LLBean that is actually shorts and a tank top so I wear that for the day. We rent a locker for the day and lock up sandals for all and a few small towels. We do all the water rides at once. We go back to the locker and change into the sandals and then grab the towels to wipe off some of the dripping water, and then head to the rides. I have the towels in a plastic bag so they don't get wet. On the Bluto ride we put the towels and anything else (sandals, sunglasses, etc.) that we don't want to get wet into the middle covered compartments and then just have a great time getting soaked. After doing the rides several times we head back to the locker, retrieve our stuff and head back to the HRH for showers.

For Jurassic Park, I merely put my head against the padding for the final plunge and I hardly ever get wet at all, just a little on my back.

Now the 2 toon lagoon water rides are a totally different story, not much you can do there other than get wet, wear bathing suits with flip flops or no shoes at all, or do as the final rides and just live with getting wet. You will get soaked either way, not sure if even a poncho is going to do much on the Barge ride, its a soaker.

We do very similar!! LOVE the water rides and always plan them as our last rides and then back to onsite hotel...

We wear bathing suit tops and quick dry shorts/bathing suit shorts too...

We haven' bothered with locker or towels..we drip dry:lmao:
most important....shoes to wear for trip back to hotel as nothing worse than squishy wet running shoes!! We keep them in knapsack....Bring extra flip flops etc. as PP said and just have fun!!!!

EXACTLY!!!

Why even ride it if you are going to remove one of the main elements of the ride.

It is so funny to see those with poncho's try to stay dry and completely fail in the attempt. :cool2:

Spare shorts.
Spare tshirt.
Shoes off - shove everything in the centre of the barge.

Ride away, get changed when you're done :confused3

(JP doesn't get you very wet and we don't ride Dudley; Bluto is a winner though!)

We always stay onsite so when we want to ride the water rides we just put on our suits and sandals and go have fun. Then after a bunch of rides for hours we go back and change. Its even fun to do Doom or Hulk dripping wet!:thumbsup2

I don't see how ponchos keep anyone dry on the Bilge-Rat Barges. I thought at times that we were all in the water swimming.

I do keep my shoes dry because I hate squishy shoes. Other than that we just enjoy being wet.

We usually wear Adidas running shorts, T-shirt, and Crocs and just get soaked. I don't understand why you would want to NOT get wet on a wet ride? :confused3

DH just wears a suit and I wear bathing suit under my clothes and water shorts. We usually get a locker too for a towel and sometimes a change of clothes if we don't want to be wet all day.

Nah.. we just get wet, and let ourselves dry off during the day! Bring on Dudley and the gang!!!
