Water Rides in December

I'm curious about the water rides at Universal in December. We went last year in November & rode the wet rides & when we were finished, we didn't have a dry stitch on us! Is it the same even in cooler months?

I guess what I'm asking is, do they have a way to change water levels or water currents in the ride to make them less wet for guests in the winter months? If so, do they actually ever adjust the rides?

Last year, I ended up buying a tshirt & sweats in the park to change into after our ride & put my wet clothes in a locker until we left! I'm riding the rides no matter what, I will just go into the park prepared this year! Lol

The only thing that can be different would be water cannons or water fall effects might be off or less.

I love the water rides but hate the water cannons. I would hope they have them turned off during the winter months. I love getting wet but a little miserable trudging around the park when you are completely drenched.

We went in Jan and are going again in Jan this year..The rides are still just as wet and the cannons were still on when we went.

Went in Feb. JPRA is my favorite, I rode like 5 times in a row followed by Popeyes. Was great no lines at all. But FYI the water is NOT heated, brrr.

The key thing is to be prepared. Even when it's cold out they still don't mess around. There is no "will I get soaked?" It's "YES I will get soaked". Water cannons or not.

Bring changes of clothing. Either clothes you change into after the ride once your first clothes are wet, or clothes to change into while you're running around hitting the water rides.

I was trying to decide between taking a dry set of clothes or planning my water riding just prior to my afternoon break where I can go back to the resort and change clothes. I already know I'll wear my Dri-Fit pants and shirt and probably a pair of compression shorts underneath (to avoid chafing).

We went on the three right before we went back for a break. Worked out well for us. I would wear flip flops if possible, I had to dry my shoes with the hair dryer in our room!

This is what we do. We also were flip flops (I wear them the entire length of our USO visit.)

I wore a rain poncho, rolled up my jeans, wore minimus shoes which dry fast and took my socks off for the ride. I looked silly but didn't get wet at all. Since I didn't get wet it wasn't cold at all in February but still fun.

If I go in December I will ride Jurassic Park no matter what as the amount of water is minimal on that one. But if it is under 80 I will likely forego Dudley Do Right and Bluto's River Barge. Don't see the point in riding them with ponchos for me anyway.

As We always go in Jan, we wear a poncho and flip-flops or Crocs. Sometimes we ride Popeye 2 times followed by JPRA 2 times. We get REALLY SOAKED ...

we went on JPRA in early january this year, sat in the middle of the row and did not get wet.


maybe we were lucky as only a few peeps were on the ride when we did it.
