My wife is very uncomfortable in wet clothes.

Should our strategy be to hit these rides and then go back to our hotel (Portifino) or take a change of clothes in a locker? Are there places to change clothes or are you hiding in a bathroom stall?

We usually hit all the wet rides in the late morning before we leave the park. There are lockers but you only get them for a limited time and if you wanna change, it's gonna be in a bathroom stall.

Our strategy was to rent a locker and ride, ride, ride those water rides for the hour time and then go back to the hotel and change and get ready for the evening. We always hit the water rides last thing we do. I don't like to walk around soaking wet either :)

Ride the water rides in one awesome and wet set of a few hours. :)

Wear quickdry clothes, even down to underwear. Bras are hard to find in quickdry so bring a little jacket for those times that the bra is still wet and the shirt is drying off. :upsidedow

Embrace being soaked to the bone. Seriously. Universal doesn't mess around. There's no "will I get wet?" on the water rides.

Bring some extra clothes (at the very least clothes for the bottom half) and put them in a locker or have them in ziptop bags inside a small backpack. Sitting on a boat while wet, or walking back to PBH, isn't pleasant when chafing is a possibility.

I can attest to this. ESPECIALLY on Ripsaw Falls.....You will be completely soaked, head to toe....no doubt about that.

We really like the 3 water rides. Each can get you soaked, even Jurassic, in the front of the boat.

We wear our bathing suits under quick dry clothes into the park, with flip flops. When we had our fill of the water rides, we walk or take the boat back and shower and change and then return to the park. In the heat, we tend to dry pretty quickly.

I also just use my lanyard, no bags on the rides either. We tend to go either first thing they open or this summer, in the middle of the afternoon, as it was so hot.

Just thinking about the water rides I start to smile. When we go when it's really really cold, and we don't ride those rides, we're sad.

Remembered something that can help if you don't wantt o bring clothes and just want to walk back and change... Body Glide. It's an anti-chafing product, looks like a deodorant. Runners use it. Put it in the spots that might chafe (even when wearing shorts, especially during a long day or when clothes get wet, you can end up with thighs rubbing, so get that area). It helps protect you. If not that product, Gold Bond makes a product as well for it.

And to add to that point, any powdered deodorant works too. Learned that in the police academy. And being PROactive is your best bet. You don't wanna ruin a full day or night due to THAT kinda pain. Haha.

When we were there in May 2013 Universal had a box people could stand in to dry off...like a giant blowdryer haha. You had to pay to use it, and we didn't bother because we did the water rides last and were leaving the park.

I bought ponchos for us at the dollar store for this time, though Dfi says he won't use it.

We go in December this year and it's our first time to Universal. Will it be to cold then to ride these wet rides? Were from Canada so we know cold but the girls may be a little chilly. The plan I have now is to ride them after lunch so we can dry a little.

I've been in December several times, and the answer is you just have to wait and see. I've been there when it has been in the 50s and 60s, and other times in the 70s and 80s. After lunch would be the best time for the highest temperature, naturally!

I'm glad you didn't bother. Unless you are already wearing quickdry stuff, or unless you are tiny and therefore your clothes are tiny, they don't work. DH is a bigger guy and wears cotton, and it did a big ol' NOTHING to dry him off. Especially his shorts (cargo shorts).

They make cute photo ops, and I suppose if you're a bitty teen wearing nearly nothing to begin with, then they work, but other than that, we skip them.

You just never know! 2010 when we arrived in late November it would have been warm enough. But later into that December, nope. (2010 was a disturbingly cold January and then December)

If you want to try, just be sure to bring extra clothes, down to socks and shoes (or change them into flip flops or crocs before going on the ride) and have plastic bags to keep the dry clothes dry!
