Hi! We are going to Orlando in March. And we want to go to a nice water park there. What one would you all recommend? Is there 2 at Disney? I have heard bad things about Wet N Wild. Not sure about Water Mania?
Thanks!

I would definitely recommend either of the 2 water parks at Disney. They are so much more than a bunch of slides and a lazy river. The atmosphere is SO nice! At Typhoon Lagoon it is like being on a Tropical Island. We love cruise the Lazy river, sit at the edge of the water with our Mai Tai while DD plays in the waves in the wave pool. This year Slusher Gusher will be opening. They are hoping for a March debut. This is a water coaster and will have 3 different routes. Should have some pretty decent lines, as well! Most adults prefer Typhoon Lagoon to Blizzard Beach as it has more of a relaxing feel.

Blizzard Beach... pretend you are at a ski resort and it turned warm and all of the ice and snow turned to water. Now you have the picture of Blizzard Beach. All of the buildings are like ski lodges and ski rental shacks. They have a ski lift that will take you to the top of the mountain to ride the slides... There are some incredible slides here. Really appeals to preteens and teenagers. The lazy river is really nice, with great theming. The bobbing pool is like a wave pool, but never has big waves. You can grab an intertube and sit there bobbing away for hours.

Whichever one you choose, I don't think you will be at all disappointed in the waterparks at WDW! I have an annual WP pass and go there at least once a week once the temperature outside reaches 85... anything less, and I'd freeze!

You didn't mention who is in your party (ie kids, just adults etc). In general we like Blizzard Beach better. DD prefer the kids area over TL. DS loves the thrilling slides, and I like being able to take the ski lift instead of walking up. We also htink the fmaily rasft ride and lazy river at BB is better.

TL has beautiful theming and is more laid back. They do have a new attraction opening up this yr that is based on some amazing technology from Schlitterbaun waterparks in TX.

As I mentioned on another thread, we were there last March and had highs in the '80's. Both Disney waterparks have wonderful theming. We love BB for all the slides. But the wave pool at TL is awesome and unlike any other, the slides aren't as great, but the new one will be wonderful. (I've ridden the one just like it at Schlitterbahn here in TX). I guess if I HAD to choose 1, I would go with TL.

I go with my wife and son,and if we had to choose I guess it would be Blizzard beach. It has a much better lazy river and the slides are also better.Typhoon lagoon has the wave pool which is great but right now thats it untl new slide opens up. Blizzard beach also has two seperate parts for very young children and another section for the pre-teen crowd.

Wow, thanks for all your great posts. ;) It will be me, my husband and our 7 year old son.

With a 7 yr old I'd say BB, unless the new ride (can't call it a slide it is way beyond a slide IMHO) at TL is open. then it would be a toss up.

The new attraction is a water coaster to be named the Slush n Gusher. It is scheduled to open in March 2005. I have a feeling it is going to draw huge crowds, as it is the only one in Florida! I think, in that case, Typhoon Lagoon would win, hands down!!!

If you go to TL and the new slide is open, I would definitely plan to go to the new slide first. We've been to Schlitterbahn many times and the Master Blaster is not new, but we typically wait 1 hour - 1 1/2 hours to ride.
