we are going to WDW in june next year on our 4th visit. Needless to say we have never been to any of the water parks but because we have the water parks left on our disney tickets from previous visits we are hoping to go on this trip.
Which park is the best as we are not confident swimmers.

Do we need to get there early or can we arrive reasonably late?

What type of restaurants are there?

What type of clothes do we need to take with us?

Thanks for any comments.

Both parks are fine regardless of whether or not you are confident swimmers as long as you don't go out of your depth in the wave pools you'll be fine. Also all the slides swish into pools that as soon as you hit them you can put you can touch the bottom.

In order to get a good jump on the lines for the slides I suggest getting to a water park for opening time and tht way you can get the slides under your belt first and then spend the rest of the day lulling about going round say the lazy rivers which I love.

The restaurants at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are both Coutner service types - you can line up for the food in your beach gear and either take the food back to your sun bed or eat at the eatery's seating area.

Clothes wise: I wear my shorts and vest top and take swim wear and sarong. You can take your own towels if you want or you can rent them there.

Both BB and TL are worth doing :)

For anyone else who has put off the Disney water parks they are definitely a 'must do'. We weren't going to bother last time
as we thought 'yeah - we've got water parks here that are just as good'. How wrong could we be - Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are more than just water parks - the theming is absolutely spot on and you never get bored - there's so many different slides, pools, play areas to try and even if you don't like
fast slides there's still plenty of stuff for you to do. Find yourself a sheltered spot amongst the palm trees and grab yourself a beer from the beach bar. Blizzard Beach was on of the highlights of our trip last time - we had to be dragged away when it closed!

Agree with the other views - the water parks are a must do - for ALL ages.

Get there as early as possible, that way you can find a shaded area in each park - being in the sun and water all day is a recipe for sunburn - and having a nice shaded spot to relax in will be ideal.

We arrive in t-shirts and shorts, rent a locker and, at the end of the day, shower and change into the fresh clothes we've all brought with us. This allows us to go straight out for dinner afterwards - assuming we're not too exhausted :hyper:
