Hi all, first post here...after getting my cool countdown!

Just wondered if any of you know whether or not there are lockers at the water parks at WDW?
If there are, how much do they cost?

I dont want to be the bag watcher whilst everyone swims LOL

:p

No answer to your question - just wanted to say Welcome to the DIS!

disneydolphin2,

There are lockers, and they are $5 for a small locker, $7 for a large. When you return your key, you can either get $2 back or a refillable mug. We found the small was enough to put some spare clothes and our video camera, plus wallet and smaller stuff. If there's children involved, pay the extra two bucks and get the large.

FYI: You have to rent towels, there's no refund, and the towels are miniture. I don't even know what they cost. Take your own. Borrow some from your hotel pool. But don't pay for towels!

Last year when we went to BB, my family was off slipping and sliding down some slide when I went to stand in line to get a locker and towels with my one year old. I had the stroller and it kept getting caught on the poles that were holding up the rope to keep people in line and although the line wasn't long...it was all just a pain...then when I got to my locker I opened it to find a free souvenier cup and two compimentary towels with a card that said something to the effect of Thanks for sharing Walt's birthday...hope you enjoy this gift.....at first I thought I had opened someone else's locker...Duh, it was such a nice surprise after standing in the pain in the neck line! When I told the rest of the family about it, they were all so excited, you would have thought we won a free trip to Disney or something....I use my BB soucenier cup all the time with lots of fond memories!

:D Hi all

Thank you for the welcome and all the information.
This site is great.....its going to make our visit less stressful and that can only be a good thing!

So do you suppose they still leave complimentary mugs in the lockers or were you just lucky? Are those the kind of mugs you can refill free around the whole of disney?

Thanks for the tip about the towels too, ;) , they have towels at the hotel pools? We're staying a value resort, the Allstar Movies, does that still apply to there?

Better go before i think of another (!!) question LOL Oh already thought of one, is Typhoon Lagoon the same in regards to lockers etc. We are classing access as one of the benefits of staying onsite as i understand access is limited if you purchase a Hopper ticket.
Thanks in advance :Pinkbounc

Disneydolphin2,
Yes, they basically have the same setup over at TL as they do at BB. looks like you're coming in early may. you can expect the water parks to be open from 9am-7pm. Our experience in May was that the water parks really start thinning out after 4pm. We go from 4-7 and get as much done as staying all day when figthing the crowds. not sure what you mean as far as accessibility? If you're talking about guaranteed entrance? there is two ways to look at that: 1)early to mid may-you shouldn't have to worry about parks getting to capacity 2)trust me--if a water park gets to capacity--you don't want in! If you're referring to transportation--it's just as easy to drive your car to the water parks and it is to take the disney buses. If fact, we prefer to drive our own car because of all the extra's you're carrying.

kevind65,

Thanks for all that info.....'specially relating to May crowds etc..great to know!

When i said it was a perk, i meant that had we decided to stay offsite we would have bought a 7-day park hopper plus tkt. According to my airtours brochure this tkt only allows you 4 visits in total to ....the two water parks
....pleasure island
.....wide world of sports
Maybe i have misunderstood the wording but i took that to mean you could drop PI and sports and visit both water parks twice or similar if you follow me (!)
Whereas staying onsite we get to (taking into consideration how full it is.....i like to decide for myself when i dive LOL) visit whenever we can fit visits in
Hope this makes sense
:p

disneydolphin2,
If you buy a 7 day park hopper with the 4 pluses, you can use those 4 pluses however you wish i.e. 2 BB 2 TL or 3TL 1BB. it's up to you. just remember that with the pluses you cannot go from BB over to TL in the same day without using up another plus. The other idea is to stay on property and get the ultimate park hopper or length of stay passes which allow unlimited hopping to all the major theme parks plus the water parks, Pleasure Island & wide world of sports. These are a little more expensive, but, if your budget allows for them, it affords a freedom that cannot be beat. UPH passes expire when your stay at the resort is done. unused PHP's are good on future visits including the plus features.

Are those the kind of mugs you can refill free around the whole of disney?

There isn't a mug you can use in all of disney. Each resort has a mug that can be used only at the resort it is purchased for the length of your stay. The water parks each have refillable mugs good for only the day of purchase, although on return trips you can purchase refills for the mugs at the water parks.

Hi!

The ultimate park hopper is included in the package we have so we do have unlimited access for 14 days. Sorry i didnt make it clear. Thanks for helping :p

Y'know this isnt really clear from all the stuff ive read etc.......im glad you've told me......its probably just me looking for bargains that aren't there hehe! My travel agent made it sound like an excellent idea..which i dont dispute on one level....but for instance, if you only spend half a day in one park, then its hardly worth it to purchase a mug is it?
I think my biggest problem is visualising the scale of WDW, i have to keep reminding myself that its not a couple of mins stroll from one park to the next
I do know that there are refillable mugs at the hotel too, which will probably be worthwhile getting..cant see me not needing above say, seven drinks throughout 14 days in order to recoup the initial cost but i shall have to think about taking bottled water i reckon to the parks.

just to clear a coupe things up.

Is there a refillable mug for the whole disney world resort?
-NO, there is no one mug for the whole resort, there are only refillable mugs for each hotel (each hotel has their own mug) and the Waterparks have all day "sports bottles" (u can use the sports bottle at either place, IE take your Blizzard Beach mug to TL)

"When you return your key, you can either get $2 back or a refillable mug"
-This is not the refillable sports bottle that you buy for all day fills, this is just a suvaneair (sp?) mugs.

"So do you suppose they still leave complimentary mugs in the lockers or were you just lucky? "
-THis is just a free gift they put in selected lockers each day at the park just to make a few families visit just a bit more magical :D

"The water parks each have refillable mugs good for only the day of purchase, although on return trips you can purchase refills for the mugs at the water parks."
-Sportsbottles at the park cost $10 will the all day fill, If you bring back a bottle from a privous trip, all you have to do is buy a sticker for $5.

ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!!!

:D

When we go to the Water Parks we only put things in the locker that we absolutely can't afford to lose. We've never had a problem with our towels, sandels, cover-ups, snacks, cooler, disposable water camera, etc being messed with on the chairs, even when we are away on the water slides. You also tend to have some idea of who is next to you, etc and I've never observed their stuff being messed with by others either.

Basically I'll put my car keys, money, ID and park tickets in a small locker -- and then just enjoy myself!!

p.s. You don't usually find surprises in the lockers ... someone just happened to get lucky!

yes, many people do this, and the few months I was there, I never heard of anyone who had their stuff stolen. When i went and visited the park with a couple of my co-cms, we left our stuff on a chair on the beach (but we left all the valueable stuff in the car. All i brought in was a backpack w/ a towel, my ID and my Debt card.....) so I wasnt to worried about it being lost, but all was fine.... but remember, you leave it at your own risk :D
