Water Parks

We were not fans of the "snow" theme at Blizzard Beach. But we're northerners, so we see lots of the real stuff. It just seemed out of place for a waterpark. Typhoon Lagoon, in comparison, was green and tropical and lush.

We much preferred the huge, crashing wave pool at TL to the smaller, bobbing pool at BB.

We are from the north too and don't care for BB either. We would much prefer the lush atmosphere and tropical theme of TL then the snow themed BB. Plus BB seemed like all it was was concrete, compared to the sandy beaches of TL. We are going to a waterpark on our upcoming trip and we plan on going to TL twice. We also really like Crush N Gusher at TL and we are planning on trying out the Shark Reef too :goodvibes.

For as many as you ask, you will get a different answer. You'll have to pay attention to the "why's" to see if they match what is important to you. We went to both last summer and came out with TL on top!! Why? because the wave pool does something we've never seen at any other wavepool, ever...because there is a saltwater tank you can snorkel in and see real-life sea creatures in (no animatronics here), we love snorkeling and are advanced enough swimmers at just the right age to float, relax and enjoy so we do this over and over again...because they have multiple water coasters and we have a wild side too. There is A LOT of sand at TL, I'll leave that up to you as to whether that is a positive or a negative. BB has a lot of concrete, again up to you.

lol this is true -- we live right by the ocean -- I can actually see it from my house -- and our waves are the crashing, throw you off your feet kind. But at least at TL there is a break once in a while so if you want to swim you can -- IMO you need to be a strong swimmer to be able to do that in strong waves. If you can't experience that at home, I guess that might be a plus on vacation.

We love both and would be hard pressed to pick one but they each have their pros and cons.

BB has much better water slides. Their Ski patrol area is great for pre-teens. If you like a more gentle bobbing wave pool BB is the way to go.

TL is for you if you love everything about the beach. Tons of sand, snorkle with the fishes and the most amazing wave pool I have ever seen. The water coaster at TL is top notch as well.

Both have great Lazy River rides but we prefer BB's by a slight margin.

We've had much better luck at TL finding a nice out of the way sandy nook for our family to lounge in. Maybe we've been unlucky but at BB we always seem to get stuck lounging in a sea of humanity.

This may be a dumb question, but if I buy a 7 day ticket with PH and WP&M option, does that mean that theoretically, I can use all 7 WP&M visits at BB?

We do plan to visit both waterparks and DisneyQuest, so I guess a better question is: Is there a limit to how many times you can visit any of the "extra" parks/major attractions?

You can use them however you wish. And unlike the "park" portion of your ticket, you can use more than one WPF&M option in a day.

Put another way, if you have a base ticket, you can only go to one park per day. Period. Doesn't matter how many days are on it.

If you have a hopper, you can go to multiple parks, but will only use one "day" each day.

But, with the WPF&M option, you get 7 "uses" and you can use several per day. This holds true even if you have the hopper. Going to TL and BB in the same day would use 2 of your WPF&M "uses".

Now, here's where the WPF&M gets really interesting. A 7-day ticket with WPF&M option can potentially be stretched as much as 14 days of uses. You could go to 7 of the 4 main "parks" over a 7-day stretch, and then go to 1 water park per day for another 7 days. In our case, we had 4-day tickets with WPF&M & hopper. Over 7 days we did:

Day 1 AK/Epcot (using day 1 of the main ticket)
Day 2 TL (using 1 WPF&M "visit")
Day 3 MK (using day 2 of the main ticket)
Day 4 BB (using the 2nd WPF&M "visit")
Day 5 Epcot (using day 3 of the main ticket)
Day 6 DHS/Epcot (using day 4 of the main ticket)
Day 7 BB and TL on same day (using the 3rd and 4th WPF&M "visits")

So, 7 days on a "4-day" ticket, and had we saved that last WPF&M, we could have made it 8 days :)
