Water parks questions

This is for all you experienced water park attendees...

Planning a spring 08 trip with DH and DD8, who is a timid and new convert to water parks. She can't get enough of them. But she's only been to much smaller parks and especially loves it when she can ride with me.

Does either BB or TL have rides that allow double riders? She's much more comfortable riding that way and I fear if we can't do any double rides I'll be spending a lot of $$ for the lazy river rides...

Also wondering which you feel is better for the more timid child who's too tall for the "kiddie" areas but not up for the Summit Plunge at all.

Thanks in advance for advice.

We prefer Typhoon Lagoon with our also timid 9 year old. There are several "not-so-scary" water slides and the oh-so-cool shark reef in addition to the lazy river. Also, there's the big wave pool that is a lot of fun.

To *US* it seems BB is geared more for the adventurous pre-teens/teens/active adults... although they also have great "kiddie" areas, but they have height restrictions, and I doubt your 8 year old would be allowed there.

I'm sure others will also have some great feedback. Enjoy your vacation!

Blizzard beach! There are several tube ride down the back of the mountain that you can use the double tubes for. When my DS was 5 we went there and we rode until Mom couldn't carry the tube back up the steps without cardiac arrest. The Family raft ride is also longer and better. The body slides seem friendlier at BB for kids also IMO. They have a kids area that is for kids too old for the kiddie area that would be perfect for her. The wave pool isn't as rough as TL. either. My DS went on a lot more slides tube or otherwise at BB than he did at TL.

definately BB! The area for bigger kids is called Ski Patrol, Tyke's Peak is for toddlers. Your dd will love Ski Patrol, plus she can do some of the bigger rides with you.

i agree with the last 2 posts,BB would suit you best.and i will add that the wave pool at TL is very strong so your DD mite not like it .

We haven't been to a water park yet, but are going this trip (4 days!). I picked BB for similar reasons. My kids swim very well, but my DD11 is a bit timid at first on rides. BB has what looks like a great pre-teen area, so we will hit that first to get her used to the water slides and then move on to the bigger ones.

Thanks for all the great advice. I'm sure we'll have a super time no matter which one we go to. Now I just have to convince my husband to try a few slides himself.:rotfl:
