Definately, Yes!

We usually visit in October and the weather on most days is in the mid 80's to 90's

We went in dec a few years ago and weren't the only ones there, was fine we are going the end oct -nov this time and planning to go first day we are there as typhoon closes 31st October

never had a cold day oct/nov time, but have definately had cool/cold evenings late November!:)

We're also out there Oct 20 for a fortnight. According to this calendar, it closes from 28th October onwards this year. Don't want you missing out if you go a day too late :)!.

Definatly closed from and including the 28th Oct. We are gutted as we dont arrive until 31st and its our favourite park. :sad2:

We went a couple of years ago around Columbus Day. It was COLD the whole week. We had to leave the parks and go buy JACKETS!!!

But that was definately NOT the norm. We are planning a trip for this October and it includes water parks at least 2 days.

Good luck to us both!

A couple of years ago, thats prob the one year that we didn't do October/November:) Sounds like we had a lucky escape then! Mind you we went the following feb/march time and the evenings were COLD then. Going September or to be precise we will be in the air this time in 4 weeks:goodvibes so not expecting anything but hot. Not a fan of Sept but its for a big birthday of mine and I need to escape and pretend its not happening:rotfl:

We even had CMs tell us "yeah, this time next week it will be back in the 90s" We still had fun. The funny part is that my daughter and husband both wanted to pack jeans and I flat out refused saying "we are not wasting valable suit-case space with stuff we will NEVER wear!"

We went to Typhoon Lagoon last year during our october trip and it was great.

I used the pool at OKW and even on the cooler days it was still lovely. I liked that you could enjoy the pool or the water park with out that scortching pavement problem when you get out of the water.

We went the end of September / start of October last year, and it was perfect at the water parks. Only trouble we had was near the end of the holiday - we had saved Typhoon Lagoon till a few days before going home and it rained the day we went and thier was a storm in the area. Rides and pools were closed but we decided to stay and eat. After about an hour the rain / storm went and everything re opened :)

Thank you thats a shame as wanted I take husband and kids there as I went when I was younger will have to go another year

Hoping you water park lovers can help me, I was told we should get water shoes for the kids because the pavements at the waterparks get scorching hot. Our first trip to the waterparks will be 25th October and we plan on getting there at 10am so do you think this will be a problem at that time of year and time of day? We've never worn anything on our feet at pools/beach/etc before even in hot summers in France and I assumed it was an over cautious bit of advice but thought I'd check here :)

Never underestimate Florida sun.
Southern France may get hot, but florida is farther south.
That's the kind of heat you'd get in southern morocco or southern Egypt (basically sahara desert)
Temperatures may not necessarily be higher, but the angle of the sun is different and the quantity of heat energy is tremendous. Long story short : pavements really do get hot.

You might be ok without footwear, but I know I'm not.
And it's much different from briskly walking 10 paces around the pool, you're looking at quite long and frequent walks on overheated pavements.

We use flip-flops or crocs

and don't forget sunblock (or better, anti-uv suits for kids)

florida sun is a killer.

Thanks for the quick reply. We'll wear flip flops or crocs to the waterparks anyway so if we can wear them in the pool that will be one less thing to worry about. I think trying to persuade teenage kids to wear anti-uv suits is going to be pushing it :rotfl: but waterproof high strength sun cream is already on the shopping list. Thanks.

October is hot! I got sunburned when we went to TL in Oct 2009!

And yes definitely crocs on the feet, the floor was too hot to walk on without them.
