Water Parks in mid-August

We will be in Orlando in mid-august next year (due to school holidays!) and as we will have a new (UK) Disney pass that gives us unlimited access to all the parks for the full 2 weeks we were considering hitting the Theme parks in the morning and then nipping over to a water park when the heat got too unbearable in the afternoon.
Would this be feasable or would the water parks be completely overcrowded by then?

Do the waterparks get really busy in August due to the weather or does the heat have the reverse affect and keep people away?

Hi,

The first problem: water parks get very crowded during the summer months. If you go in the afternoon all the "good" slides will likely have very long waits.

Second problem is that in August there are thunderstorms almost every afternoon, so if you wait till the afternoon the water parks may close due to thunderstorms.

I'd suggest arriving first thing in the morning like you would any of the other parks.

Cheers,
Bob

Have to agree with bob go early to avoid the crowds and get on the good slides. Then relax in the pools or go back rest and do parks at night. We do this with our kids and it works out well. :thumbsup2

Thanks, thats pretty much what I thought but it was just an idea!

Before noon we have heard annoucements over the loadspeakers to please share your chairs etc., even the chairs are gone by then and remember to bring a good waterproof sunscreen. The summer heat is brutal. I usually do the coppertone sport or waterbabies. It has a high spf and lasts long.
