Water parks in January?

Hi, We're DVC members from California and up until now have only gone to WDW in the summer. We're heading to Florida for NYE through January 7 and trying to figure out what is the best pass for us to get. (As DVC members we do get a discount on an annual pass, but aren't sure if we'll be going again within the year, so trying to figure everything out.)

Should we worry about getting a premium pass/with options so we can visit the water parks or is it too cold or not the best use of daylight hours to go to a water park?

Any feedback or opinions welcome.

Thanks!

The pools are heated, but gosh, do you really want to get out of the water to go to another water slide and freeze your booty off? I would be very concerned about getting sick.

My actual experience has been that on average in December and January there are at least two afternoons a week that have temp's at least in the 70's and going to water parks is quite doable.

You will have to schedule around that, though.

I think that even with the DVC discount, the difference between regular and premium annual pass is a break even with four visits to the plus venues.

We are going to be there in January and I ruled out the water parks immediately. Yeah, the pools are heated, but what about when you are out of the pool? I didn't want to chance anyone getting sick, it is just not worth it.

Based upon my two January experiences, you can probably make it work. One time we spent 1 day in a water park. The other time we did not, but it was warmer than the other trip with temperatures in the 80s. I am going again this December/January and am hoping for good weather.

I would not buy the premium ticktes unless you are willing to hold them for a future trip.
