Water Parks in December?

My family has traveled to WDW twice during the week of Thanksgiving (2009 and 2010) and with a little plan tweeking were able to visit Blizzard Beach during both trips (huge hit with DD). This year we will be at WDW the week following Christmas. Is the weather usually warm enough to visit the water parks during the last week of December (I believe typhoon lagoon is scheduled to be open)? If not, I am wondering what a good alternative will be for this day. We already plan to spend our last day at DTD and have plans to do the Wild Africa Trek on our AK day. My DD is 16 and her DBFF is 15 so there is less need for character interaction. I do have park hoppers. I really would love Wishes Dessert Party tickets but they are sold out. I know I am rambling but its easy to get a little overwhelmed.

Last year was unseasonably warm... Mid 80's
But I think typical is low 70's

The pools and park should be open, but it's tough to guarantee comfort as highs in the 50's and 60's are possible.

We are going in December and I am looking at our "rest days" or non-park days as potential water park days IF it is warm. If not, we will choose between mini-golf ( we haven't done water park or mini-golf before), or just stay at the pool and maybe rent a boat. My kids are younger than yours. How about the Sea -Racers? Those are fun!

Great fun.
Rent from the marinas at any of the resorts near Magic Kingdom.
Those boats' engines are set to run faster than the others on-property, and there is so much more to see on those two huge MK area lakes.

Just don't count on it. They will close if it gets too cold. But there are many times the weather is fine for them.
