Water Parks DVC Discount

We will be going to WDW this Sept and will be buying a one day ticket to Typhoon Lagoon. I know as a DVC member we get discount. Do i have to buy the ticket thru DVC ahead of time or can i buy them at the gate or at the Lobby and show them my membership card?? Not sure how this works. Thanks for any of your assistance!!

Receive a discount of $4 per person, ages 10 and older, and $3 per person, ages 3-9, on daily admission to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.

Can you buy them for others in your group (my sister and her family) who are not listed on the membership?

Come to think of it, I am the only one listed on the membership. My husband and children, who have different last names, are not. How would that work?

Those type of discounts are usually the member plus a number of guests. The member website does not say how many discounted tickets you can buy for the water parks.
