Hi everyone, we are leaving Friday for Disney and the original plan was to do water parks during the day, go back, shower, dinner, etc. then hit the parks that evening. Now with all this rain the forecast, does this seem like the best idea? Part of me is thinking the water parks will be fairly quiet during the day but I also don't want to sit there for nothing if it is lightning all day. I know we cant predict the future, but if there is lightning, is that like an hour sit out time period or will it be 15 min or so (again, depending on if it rolls through)? Does anyone have any advice on the plan? Thanks!

We actually love the water parks on rainy days, no lines, you are wet anyways. The true only issue is the lightening, if its is within a certain distance (I think 10 miles but will admit I am not positive) they will get everyone out of the water for a waiting period. If the weather progresses, they will close the park and if you haven't been there for a long period you will get a 'raincheck"

There is no way of knowing. And there won't be any way of even guessing until that morning. My advice is to just play it by ear.

My family likes the water parks on rainy days. A lot of people leave as soon as the rain starts and the lines are short. If there is lightning in the area they will close the rides until it clears. We usually just get a snack and find a place to sit. I’ll take a rainy day over sunshine any day at the water parks. The concrete can be hot to walk on! We probably wouldn’t stay from open until close if it was hot and sunny.
