Water parks and "rafters" sandals?

I have problems going barefoot even in the house on carpet. My DS wants to go to the water parks during our Oct. WDW trip. Does anyone know if I can wear "rafter" sandals on the tube slides etc. I won't be doing the big fast slides because I am too much of a chicken. But, I do want to do the new water coaster at TL. (sorry, I can't remember the name...) I know I couldn't walk that much barefoot without being in major pain. Thanks for your help...

I'm curious about this also- because honestly it's a WASTE to pack, bring, take with you to the park, etc. the water shoes or flipflops/etc. if you have to just leave them with your stuff somewhere and walk around all day without them. (my feet are sensitive also- I wear some type of shoes all the time -usually even when I'm at home. My feet were burned, rubbed raw and killing me after our half-day at Blizzard Beach on our last trip)
I was curious about the same thing you are... I am hoping to find out that this time we can wear them as long as we aren't doing any super fast slide type rides... otherwise why even bother taking them.

I don't know about the rafter sandals, but we all wore aqua socks or beach socks (don't know the official name!) the whole day. I don't remember any rides where we weren't allowed to keep them on. Maybe that would be an option for you. They don't provide any arch support like some sandals do, but they might be better than bare feet. (especially when you have to go into the bathroom! )

I wore water shoes to both TL and BB when I was there last week. The kind you can get at Target for about $5. They saved me! There's no way I could walk around barefoot at those places! There was one slide where they made me take them off and hold them, but other than that, I was able to wear them the whole time.
