1. Will we realistically be able to go to TL in December / January? Will it we warm enough?
2. Can you wear crocs on the slides or do they only allow the water shoes?

Thanks
Gems

Ive been to the waterparks loads of times in December and its always been warm enough, Ive gotten burnt a few times! I don't think you can wear any shoes on the slides.

I would say take your swimming stuff but decide when you are there.
Been 4 times Xmas thru New year. 1st time was a definite no, frost every morning, had to de-ice car a few times.
Other 3 times maybe the odd day you could do it but not for us. Days start off too cold and drops cold late afternoon. Only a few hours inbetween would be hot enough for us.
Its an individual thing how warm you like it, Even April this year only 3 or 4 days were warm enough for us out of 14. August is perfect for us, too hot for others.:goodvibes

Depends on how brave you are. We've done the last two Christmas's over there and never been tempted into shorts let alone swimming costumes. The days start very cold and realistically you probably only have a two to three hour window where it's anywhere near warm enough for most people before it starts to cool down again. Last Christmas was unseasonably warm over there but I was still in jeans & tshirts :)

We swam in the hotel pool in December and as long as it's a nice sunny day it was fine. Can be a bit chilly when you are out of the water.

Mornings can be quite chilly, so better to go to the water parks in the middle, warmest part of the day. It also cools very quickley once the sun starts to drop.

As Wayneg says - play it by ear and keep an eye on the weather forecasts to chose the best days to go.

We went in December just gone & managed to get to TL, we also went in the pool at WH quite a few times - so bring the swimwear!!

thanks everyone, we have a villa with a pool, so we will be having the heat on in that, so at least the kids can play in the pool if we don't make it to TL.

:thumbsup2 We wore our crocs in Blizzard Beach recently we only came home friday morning:thumbsup2 On some of the slides you may be asked to take them off but you can hold them while you slide so don't worry about it.

Swimming in December is your choice I'd keep in mind what OPs have said,if you do decide to swim make sure you have enough towels to dry back off. You can use your Disney resort white towels there and request fresh ones from mouse keeping, it will be no trouble, have fun.

Yes end of December beginning of January was very very nice :) Even laid out by the pool at the RPR until the sun had gone behind the buildings at about 6pm.

Claire ;)

Thought you might want to know that only blizzard beach is open in december. Typhoon lagoon closes for refurbishment at the end of october. :)

Thats even better as we have never done BB before!

Please guys check the soles of your crocs before wearing them in a water park. If the ridges are worn away the are lethal on wet surfaces! Needless to say my pair aren't getting much wear this 'summer' (want to wait to get some new ones in the US esp. as DD wants some too)

Just another good excuse to buy a pair of Disney's then! "Oh yes DH can't you see my ridges are REALLY worn down and Jo said that I could slip so I really should have some new crocs!" :rotfl:
