we are headed down to WDW at the end of next OCT
will it be worht it to go to the water parks or is it just to chilly and should we stick with resort pool
trying to decided what ticket/ package to purchase
TIA

I would think the weather would be plenty warm enough for swimming. It has been in eighties this week in FL.

It should be warm enough, because the water is heated and October is nice weather. The question is , will your family enjoy the water park ? Some kids enjoy the water so much you have to drain the pool to get them out. Others enjoy it for only 1/2 hour or so. Some hotels have great pools with water spouts and slides. It's your call.

In addition to the resort pool, we went to the water park twice this past week. The water park was relatively crowded.

For the past three years we have been in Disney that same time for the year. This year seemed to be the warmest. Every year, we do a water park at least once.

We were there this year at the end of October and thought it was HOT! We are from Wisconsin so HOT is a relative term - I believe it was mid 80's every day except our last which was cloudy, windy and cooler. We have done water parks in December and even the resort pools in the cool December evenings when the temps drop well below 70.

Although the water is heated using a water park involves a lot of walking around dripping wet so you probably would want it to fairly warm. Normally it gets to be at least 80 on average but you can have spells that are a little cooler. I would recommend factoring in a water park but you might want to be flexible about the day and go on a day you know will be warm.
