My husband and I and our 2.5 year will be in Disney for 9 days in the beginning of October. I need to buy our park tickets and I'm not sure if I should add on the water park option.

I know it will be hot in early October - but is there anything for a 2 year old to do at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach?

I would save the money and hang out at the pool at the resort. I have not taken my kids to the water park because I am worried about the same issue. There are a lot of height restrictions and doesn't seem to be a good amount of "toddler" areas.
My older kids are only now wanting to spend more than 1/2 an hour at the pool. So it would be a waste of money to take them to a water park yet.
I have not been to either water park in almost 10 years though, so things could have changed since then.
Caribbean Beach Resort has an awesome kid pool play area, just an option. ::yes::

We are skipping the water parks with our toddler for the reason above. I think the parks are much more for older kids. To a two year old a resort pool is going to look amazing. We figure we will wait to try out the water parks for a few more years.

Our TA is giving us free water park tickets as a perk for booking with them, we'll have a 4yo and 1.5 yo and will probably go, but only because the tickets are "free". I'm thinking we'll get at most 1-2 hours out of it, with the kids at these ages. It looks amazing for older kids, and DH and I have had plenty of fun on our own at the water parks, I just don't thnk there's too much there for the toddler/preschooler set.

I'm going to go against the majority and tell you that my 20 month olds LOVED Typhoon Lagoon last year and didn't care for the pools at Port Orleans Riverside at all. One of our biggest regrets was not planning more time at the water parks! Both water parks have nice toddler areas with miniature slides, water hoses, spraying fountains, waterfalls, and steps. Our children had a total blast and were so happy with all of the fun water options.

We are going back to Disney this year and plan to spend 2 mornings at the water parks (one at each). I figure the kids will enjoy themselves for a good 3-4 hours, after which we will take our naps and head to the big parks in the early afternoon. For our family, getting the Waterpark and More Add On saved us on the number of days on our Park Hoppers...and with toddlers, sometimes less is more!
