Water park transportation

We have a trip planned for mid December, so we are not sure if we will be going to a water park or not. We are hoping for at least one water park day. My question is, how does the bus transportation work from Typhoon Lagoon back to POP? Is it a direct bus or does it go somewhere else first? Do we have to transfer to another bus to get back to the resort? Thanks.

Well, before the DS upheaval, that was an easy one. The bus to pop was direct from TL. Now, everything has changed. The best one here to answer that is @joelkfla

Here is the current schedule of service for TL:

• 1 hour before opening until 11am: Buses run from resorts directly to TL, then continue to DS. Not sure about return to resort at this time; try asking a bus driver if a bus can be sent, or it may be necessary to travel to DS & transfer.
• 11am until 2pm: Buses travel from resort to DS, and then continue to TL (normally, no transfer necessary.) Buses return to resorts direct from TL.
• After 2pm: All passengers to or from TL must transfer at Epcot. Travelling to TL, take resort bus to Epcot and transfer to shuttle to TL. Returning to resort, take shuttle to Epcot and transfer to resort bus. Between 2pm & TL close and clear, bus service is provided from Epcot to the Epcot area resorts and to the MK monorail resorts.

The route of each bus is determined when it leaves it's origination point, so the actual times for the changeovers will vary at each resort, but will be no earlier than the times stated above.
