Water Park Tickets

Does anyone know how the water park tickets work?

Are they biometrically coded into the room key ticket like at the parks or will the water parks be a separate thing?

I am thinking about the new package special and they way they are including water park tickets. If we buy 1 day non-hopper passes in order to get the dining plan with our resort room, how do they add the water park entrances to the room key. How many entrances do you get per ticket?

Can one person use the room key pass to enter the Magic Kingdom and then the next day someone else use that room key to go to BLizzard Beach or Disney Quest?

Has anyone had the water park ticket added to their room key recently?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Only one person can use the ticket. It cannot be used by a second person once it has been used.

If the room package comes with water park tickets, the water park admissions are on the same room key.

Water park tickets can also be purchased individually at the water parks.

I'm not sure how many water park visits you get, it is something like two for a 1 or 2 day park ticket up to six for a 7 to 10 day park ticket. For packages the number of water park visits may be different compared with tickets purchased separately.

If you buy one day tickets with your package, intending to use leftover tickets or annual passes for your vacation, using the water park visit(s) on the one-days will commence their 14 day active life span.

Caution: There is considerable evidence that, in 2006, if you need to, after check in, upgrade a package ticket that came with free water park admissions, what you need to pay is refigured as if the water park admissions are not free. So you should order the tickets, possibly as 10 day non-expirings, with as-is usage only in mind.

Thanks for your help.

Most everyone going has either AP's or some days left on old non-expiring passes so we only added the minimum to get the dining plan. We have 2 rooms, one with the meals and one room only. One of the family in the second room only is going to use our four 1 day nonhopper room keys to enter the main parks.

We thought that a trip to the water parks would be fun since we have never gone and we were trying to see if this person could use the room key tickets to enter the parks and then 4 of the others could use the same keys to go to the water parks. We were not certain that the water parks would be on the room keys or that the water parks used the biometirc scanning machines like the main parks.

Oh well what a bummer! It would have been fun.

I guess we will wait and see how the weather is on our day off and then decide if we want to try a water park. I assume you can buy tickets at the parks? Or do you get them at your resort? Is a water park ticket also good at DQ? I think I read where they were $35 but someone else said they are $50. Which is it?

I just called Disney and they say that neither the water parks nor Disney Quest have biometic scanners.

I explained what we were thinking of doing and the CM said he felt that would work just fine.

So now I am completely confused. In the past I have found this board to be much more accuate than the Disney CM's! :thumbsup2

Who has been to either DQ or the water parks and had their fingers scanned?

I went to TL in August, I used an older park hopper ticket that had pluses left on them. My hand was scanned when I entered, so my pass is now linked to me.

Logic says once Disney installs the biometric scanners they're going to continue to use them. Logic also suggests Disney doesn't want the kids using all the free DQ and water parks for the entire family.

I suspect the CM you spoke to is mistaken.

They have always used the biometric scanner for annual passes at DQ and the water parks.

I called again and was forwarded to a CM in DQ. He asked at admissions and they said they do bioscan.

Bummer! :(

Oh well this will force me to buy more tickets.

Another question since literally DisBoarders are most always more informed and correct...... :thumbsup2 .....

When you buy a normal (separate from your room key or park ticket) admission into say Typhoon Lagoon is it also good at DQ or Blizzard Beach. This promotion Disney has going right now gives you 3 different options or you could choose all of them. Are normal tickets this way too?

Or if not can you buy a water park/DQ ticket that is good for your length of stay?

The best deal is the water parks option on your MYW ticket.

The best deal on DQ tickets is through the mouesavers link in the monthly newsletter. You might buy your DQ tickets through tickemania and use your MYW tickets for the water parks.

You can buy an AP for just over $100, either a water park hopper or for DQ but how many more trips than the 3 that are already included will really need?

A DQ ticket is separate from a water parks ticket, unless you get the extras with your MYW ticket. Then you can use the extras for either DQ or TL or BB or PI.

Bioscanners were being used with annual passes for a long time. If the bioscanners were not used with regular tickets at the water parks they will soon be used for regular tickets, any day now.

Water parks and Disney Quest are no longer available on an unlimited basis with resort packages.
