Water Park question

How important is it to get to the park at opening? We're thinking of going to one in May. We would be spending the vast majority of our time in the kids area.

We did TL last visit and had no problems finding an area to camp-out when we got there at 10am. I guess it would depend on the weather forecast though. If they are calling for a hot day, why take the chance - get there early to stake out your spot

I suppose the answer to your question depends upon how much you would like to visit the water park and how crowded the park would be at the time you go. For me, I make an entire day out of the water park so I like to get their at opening to get a good seat. I just love the water park!

Most of the May month is usually not too crazy or overly busy but May will be hot so the water parks become popular in the heat for tourists and locals alike. I've been in May a few times and if the day you go is hot I would say that the "choice" seats close to the water to watch the children would be filled up by 11 or 12 noon and you would have to sit farther back or out of view of the kids.

We usually hit the waterparks in June. In order to get a good shady spot near the kiddie area, we arrrive right around opening time. If you aren't planning to go until later in the day. You can get good spots after 3pm, when a lot of people who arrived early start to leave.

Thanks. I'm playing around (just playing, since I have no hours to work with) with my plans and trying to decide if we want to try going on a Thursday or Saturday during our trip. Thursdays are usually MK EMH hours though.

We always arrive just before opening.
You get great location/beach chair that way.
We have never had any issues with folks touching our stuff or moving our towel aside.
But, im sure if you got there after opening, you could probably get a decent location for your chair.

I would get there early. DS and I went once early and DH tried to meet up with us a little later, and it was already filled to capacity and he couldn't get in. That was in September, and the parks weren't even very full...
