Next May we are heading to WDW!!!! Our youngest DS will be 4 and our oldest will be 6. We have never tried a water park, not even one of the local ones here at home, and are debating about it for this upcoming trip. Blizzard Beach looks awesome, but is it worth the $$$ for younger kids. I know that they won't be going on the big slides. Do you think we should just wait until they get a little older? Do you think they might just enjoy the down time at the resort pool just as much? This will be our longest trip to WDW, 7 nights, and I am trying to be very careful in our planning that we don't overdo it.

Much thanks for your opinions! :daisy:

Blizzard Beach is a lot of fun. My 5 year old LOVES waterparks as they have more to do than a traditional pool. You don't mention where you are staying. If it's a deluxe like BW or BC/YC, the pools are great and have lots to do. If it is more of a typical pool, I recommend the water park. There is plenty to do for both kids at BB.

Have a great trip!

I think it depends which kind of tickets you will be getting. If you are not planning to go to DisneyQuest and only want to go to a waterpark for one day it would be worth it to just pay for a 1 day out of pocket.

There are some slides that do not empty out into a pool, they have lazy rivers (not sure if they would like that) and a wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon.

Also depends on how long you will be in Disney. If you have plenty of "down days" then maybe, if it would just be a couple of hours each day I would just go to your pool at the hotel :)

We tried a waterpark one time and my then six year old loved and my then three year old hated it. It was just too much for her and she stayed in the little kid section the whole time, just playing with the fountains. We stay at Beach Club Villas, which has a great pool, so we have just stuck with that until they get older.

We will be staying at Bonnet Creek, I am a little nervous about it being a non-Disney resort, but it does have an awesome pool. There is a lazy river and a sprinkler play area. We will be at WDW for 7 nights and are still working on our itinerary. Not sure if we will take any whole days off from the parks or if we will just take the parks at a leisurely pace going in a couple of hours each day.

Thanks for your help so far! :daisy:

I would vote for just chill out at your resort. However, if you spend a couple of hours everyday at the pool there anway, than you might want to go to a waterpark if you are looking for a new expereince. Last spring we downgraded from POR to PC so we could put the money towards TL. It was worth it but my kids are also older (8 and 11).
