Hello! So, I just changed my tickets (for fall) to have the water park option. when I go from a reserved park to the water park, is that considered park hopping (so, do same park hopping rules apply)?

1. No.
2. No.
Theme Park use and Water Park use do not interact with each other.

Okay, soooooo...when the waterparks open, I'll just have to see if they ALSO have a reservation system (I would assume so), and make reservations for the days we'll be going, no matter the time. Correct?

Could be...

Following along because we want to go to a water park on our upcoming June trip to WDW but it's confusing as heck about the park ticket add ons. I'm probably going to call WDW tomorrow to ask about it.

Asking about something like this right now would likley get you some kind of answer...
But, the accuracy of that answer (due to the mass uncertainness of upcoming factors) would be in question.

OTOH, one way to handle it might be...
Like other ticket options, it would be possible to buy base tickets now (or soon) and then, if you decide you will want to add the water park option as things become more clear between now and your trip, you could upgrade to include the WP option.

With a park-hopper-plus, going between a main park and a water park isn't hopping.

For example, if you have a 6 day park-hopper-plus ticket, that means you have 6 days of park hopping between the main four theme parks, and 6 "plus" admissions. You can use the plus admissions on the same days as you go to the main parks, or on a different days, but the whole ticket expires in 10 days. If you go into Blizzard Beach (1 plus) and play minigolf (1 plus) on the same day, it counts as 2 plus admissions, leaving you 4 left on the ticket.

The way Disney has it worded on its website is confusing. I even asked our Dreams Unlimited Travel agent about it and that wasn't much help either.

What I'm not clear on is whether I can go to BOTH a theme park AND a water park on the same day with a "1 park per day + water/sports add-on" ticket.

Yes, you can. It would cost you one day of the park ticket, and one of the water/sports entries. It is a confusing since the main theme parks count on the ticket per day, but the water/sports is per entry.

I have no idea if reservations will be required for the water parks. I'd guess they would have to be.

Yes, this is not park hopping. You can use your multiple water park and more on the same day. (ex. Minnie golf and water park.). You are restricted to of the 4 theme parks in a single day.

I'm following along since I would like to go to a waterpark on our June trip. We have Gold AP, which don't allow waterpark entry, so I would have to buy a waterpark ticket for the four of us, but it doesn't seem that is available at the moment. I assume an upgrade to our AP to allow waterparks would not be worth it for one visit to a waterpark, right?

I’m curious if that snorkeling at Typhoon Lagoon will be allowed since the equipment is constantly reused. I know they are sanitized in between but still...

The snorkeling has been gone for a few years now.

So if I have a 6 day ticket with water park and sports option I can go to a park all 6 days and then also go to Blizzard beach? I didn’t book a park on our blizzard beach day because it said “one park a day” but they don’t count Blizzard beach as a park? Also, I made mini golf reservations for one night at like 6:30 and then read somewhere that its only included it its before 4pm. is that true?

1. Yes.
2. They do not.
Theme Parks and Water Parks do not interact. Water parks don't count against the number of Theme Park days on your ticket.
3. True. Before 4:00pm. Although sometimes exceptions are made. (Just don't count on it.)
