Water Park Family Raft Rides

In-depth info on the water parks seems to be hard to come by. I've read summaries of the family raft rides at both parks, and don't see any age restrictions attached.

Are the appropriate for a 2yo? Is there any sort of restraint system? Is it a "toss you about" ride, or just a smooth trip down the hill?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I took my DD on the family raft ride at BB when she was 1 month shy of turning 3. Basically you go down a big waterslide, going up the sides somewhat. I don't thinks it's too rough, I do know the one at BB is longer than the one at TL. There is no restraint system, she just turned sideways and held on to the strap with both hands and I held on to her with 1 hand and the strap with the other.

I don't know about age restrictions, but I can tell you you need some strength to hold on as the raft at BB (SO MUCH FUN, as opposed to TL, no fun at all) goes up and down as you go down the hill. You have straps to hold on tight. I would imagine a 2 yr. old would not have that kind of strength, but I'm sure parents of that age will be able to chime in. Go on this ride, even if you have to do the swap! Its a blast!!!!

I'm not sure if WDW puts actual age restrictions on the family raft rides, but on my Passporter, they state 4 and up. I went on Gang Plank Falls in TL last summer for the first time. There were no restraints that I rememeber seeing and it was a little rough at times. Hope this helps.

not sure
i would say so
but we haven't tried the TL one because the lines were long and also you have to carry your own raft up

I like the one at BB best, but I lost my glasses on the one at TL. Found them sloshing around in the raft though. I was lucky.

My toddler rode the family raft ride at BB at two. The child has to sit on his/her bottom - no lap sitting. If you child is adventurous, it should be fine. Mine screamed the whole way down - took some of the fun out of it. She rode at both BB and TL at three - cried the whole way again. We'll try again in May - if we can get her on the ride!

My family rode Gangplank Falls, I think, last year. Not rough, but we got drenched from waterfalls.
I wish that some of the water rides didn't drench you from overhead. With contacts, I have to be careful about what I ride. (Sounds crazy, I know,.....not getting wet at a waterpark).
