Which would you prefer, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, and why?

I like the tropical theming of Typhoon Lagoon better than the Blizzard Beach theme and also like the wave pool and Crush N Gusher. If I was going with small children, I would go to BB, however, because they have a much better kids' section.

I think TL is a prettier park, but the wave pool is a little intense. If you have younger children, I suggest BB, it has a great kids section and the family raft ride is awesome!!

Our favorite, by far, is TL! My DS12 can spend HOURS in the wave pool, and we both LOVE the Crush 'n Gusher.

It's like the parks and resorts... everyone has a different opinion. Our family likes both equally. TL has a real nice relaxing feel to it and BB has better slides for our thrill seeking boys.

We much much much prefer bb. We usually skip typhoon even if it is the only one open.

We have little ones and the kid area is so much nicer at bb.

Also...I kinda had a bad experience at the super strong wave pool. I wasn't even in that far and the wave tossed some guy on me who had been pretty far away. Nothing serious just kinda shocked me.

I am in the minority that thinks it is not as "clean" for lack of better term. Lots of the foliage was on the pathways and lazy river when I was there last. Plus almost every water.park I have been to has the tropical theme...so the stark white and blue of bb is refreshing.

Maybe I just prefer the aesthetic of bb. Very wide open walkways...great for strollers. But I am also a skier so I love the theme :)

Just went to TL and BB last week and preferred BB. The wave pool was less intense. We like waves but with so many people literally on top of you at TL we didn't stay in long. I wonder what the capacity is for TL's wave pool. However the shark reef is fun for ages 10 and above. There were younger kids very scared because of the sharks and it is difficult to teach a child to snorkel for the first time because the depth is over their head.

Blizzard Beach has a better lazy river and family raft. I thought ther were more cabanas at BB than TL. My kids are 12 and 10 enjoyed BB over TL.

I have been a diehard BB fan for four visits. Then we went last week and the two biggest slides were closed, so we moved down to TL. Loved it. I think the general consensus of younger areas being better at BB is true. BB also has the thrill slides, when they are up and running, but we loved TL- and loved the admittedly rough wave pool. Lots of options and good food, too.

BB by far - because of the slides and mini golf nearby. TL seemed more about the wave pool and snorkeling, which didn't really appeal to us.

I like both water parks. TL has the better pool. Bb has the chairlift up to the top. Each park has its own advantages. They seem to have equal crowds. Hey I had a great time at the old River Country water park so guess if it has water, I'm easy to please.

Depends on what you're after that day. I remember feeling like there was more for me to do (as a solo young adult with no kids) at TL; I loved the Crush 'N' Gusher and the rough wave pool, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place (such nice cool sand...). BB does have its thrill rides, though; the various toboggan-style water slides are pretty great.

To be honest, I've probably spent about equal time at both. It's kind of a toss-up for me, with TL maybe having just a little bit of an edge.

I prefer TL as I really enjoy the wave pool. I also prefer the lazy river at TL and I prefer the tropical feel to the park.

We were there in.December and only one wax open, TL, and loved it. We had been to both in 2012 and couldn't remember which we liked more. We had a blast at TL. The best part by far is the water coaster, I spent hours riding it. The trip was just my husband in and I so we can't speak if it is family friendly.

Been to both and my family prefer TL but BB is great also. You can't go wrong with either. My boys loved the wave pool :) but slides/ rides are fab at both.
