Water Park attire question....

Does anyone know if they allow children to wear those "surfer shirts" (the ones with SPF built in) on the slides and water rides?

My fair skinned, red-headed 7 year old will fry in the FL sun, and he wears these all the time. We found out however, that our public pool doesn't allow them for whatever reason. I just want to be sure they are acceptable at the water parks (so he doesn't get "yelled at" for wearing one!)

Thanks!
Marcy

Yes, they're allowed. My DH and 2 boys have worn them at TL & BB.

Those are fine, I even saw some kids in a one piece sort of outfit, sort of like a short sleeved and short legged wet suit. We saw alot of people in alot of different and even some a little strange swim wear, prepare for the speedos, they are everywhere.
Have fun

Thank you! Thank goodness they are allowed! 50 SPF sunscreen didn't cut it for him on a trip to the Outer Banks last year, and I always worry about him getting burned!

I have a red head, too! Last year I discovered a sunscreen for the face called Minus Sol. It has really worked well for her!

I also wear a Floppy hat as well . Skin Cancer runs in the family so I try to cut as much out as possible.

No problem at all.

If they didn't allow them, the Australian tourists would riot. Pretty much all Australian kids wear "rash guard" suits when swimming. (There's a nasty hole in the ozone layer over Australia, and since much of the population is fair-skinned, they are really getting serious about the increased skin cancer risk.)
