Water Park and More ticket option going away

Speaking of the water park option ... is this change connected to the upcoming Universal "full day" water park?

Is Disney saying, "Sure we don't have a water park that is worth a full admission ticket but if Universal is going to charge for Volcano Bay that way then darn it we will too." Because (according to their spreadsheets) it would be gross negligence not to upcharge everything to the max.

I wonder if this might have an unexpected fall out. I know many that buy too many park days because they have no clue waterpark tickets were separate matching number of days and that waterpark to theme park was not considered hopping. You know, people getting cheaper park tickets instead of overbuying.

I guess maybe I will not wait until the DD bday in Feb to get her 5day hopper + waterparks ticket, now that we are going in a warm month and she is set on doing at least one full waterpark day. I was hoping to find another deal like the SW deal we go in Oct and saved us $400. Now if I knew there would be a really nice AP or DV discount for our room I would be set.

Discounts directly through Disney on just tickets really don't exist. I think a couple of the travel sites had special short term deals on "activities". I found out about the deal on here. If you find a deal from a ticket seller listed on the Dis you would be pretty safe. We had gotten 6 day hoppers for $369 each. I am looking at a 5 day hopper + waterparks pass for my daughter for our next trip it is $410, which would save me almost $50. It is from one of the ticket sellers listed on the DIS but not sure if I can mention the name here.

Hi! Is there any further information about this? This topic has me worried, as my family of 6 and I are visiting WDW in August for 2 weeks. We were planning on buying 10-day Park Hopper + Water Park Fun & More tickets (@ AAA) to be used throughout the 2 weeks - most days at the parks but at least 2 days at just the water parks/ some days at our resort (FW) but also going to mini golf, etc. I was planning on buying the tickets early spring, but with these tickets already being $500 with a "discount," I am nervous about waiting and being forced to pay for each day at the water parks/mini golfing/golfing separately... (I am assuming this is what is going to happen?) Any further details/articles/recommendations about this would be super appreciated.

Any tickets purchased are honored until they expire. So, you can buy the tickets from AAA and they will be honored until the contract of the tickets runs out. Meaning, if the contract on the tickets states that they are good for 14 days from first use then you don't actually activate them until you first use them and then have 14 days. Make sure you check into that because you're going to have 20 days of entry, but are only staying 14 days so you may want to scale your park hopper tickets back to 7 days and then you would get 7 days of options.

I just booked our next vacation (08/27 - 09/02) with FD promo; with our package the Park Hopper was included for no additional cost and for $15 Each you could upgrade to the Park Hopper Plus... so for an extra $30 my fiance and I got 7 day "tickets" to the water parks. I don't know how much the Park Hopper Plus generally costs without the special promotion, but for the price we got it is an amazing deal. This will be our first time doing the water parks, as we always felt the previous Water Parks & More option was too expensive/not worth the money with how many times we would visit the water park.
