We'll be doing a 5 night Bermuda cruise next October. I was wondering, do they offer a "bottled water package" in the same way you can get a "beverage package" on some ships? I drink more water than soda. I've had the desalinated water on previous cruises & really don't like the taste.

Yes, they were going around offering it the first day while we were eating lunch at Cabanas. But it was kind of expensive, and I found it pretty easy and convenient to just bring Tervis tumblers and water bottles up to the soda machines and fill with ice and water.

You can also order cases of water ahead of time and it will be in your cabin waiting for you when you board.

Look on DCL website under Stateroom gifts to find the prices. I don't believe that is something you need to go through your travel agent for -- anyone can purchase it for you as a gift to be delivered in your room, and you pay for it separate from your reservation.

I know everyone has different tastes, but I really can't taste any difference in the water I get at the soda machines (they have a separate spigot for the water, next to the sodas and lemonade) than the water at home. I just bring a tervis and fill up using a DCL cup ( you are not supposed to put your own containers under the spigot) or just grab a cup of ice water when I am thirsty between meals. I also order ice water every time I get room service, then keep the glass handy to drink from.

Finally, unless the rules have changed (which is VERY possible) you can bring your own water on board.

Yes, all beverages must be carried on, not in your checked bags.

We have only done two DCL cruises - one out of PC and one out of Houston. For both we brought a flat of water with us and put one of our luggage tags stuck right across the top. Both times the flat arrived to our room with our luggage. It was worth the $4 chance that it would be delivered. We also brought Coke Zero in 500mL bottles in our carry on when we went in the Fantasy because they don’t have Coke Zero.

Yes, if you ask a porter to take your case of water, they will (they don't work for Disney and they aren't going to jeopardize a tip by saying "no"). But it's against DCL policy. All beverages must be carried on, not checked.

I was told the carry on policy was because they don’t want glass to break and leak from one piece of luggage to another.

Houston was January 2017 and PC was August 2018. We had read that it may or may not get through - but both times it did. Maybe because it was still in the plastic shrink wrap and was contained...?

Who told you that? I mean, was it DCL or the porters?

I cannot remember would told us - it may have been our TA.

When I called DCL they told me I could send a flat of water with my luggage but they didn’t always take them. It depended on who was working. So we gambled the flat of water.

I would think they would be more worried about an unprotected case of water than a bottle of wine in a suitcase. The water, if it breaks, WILL affect other people's luggage, the bottle of wine might stay contained to the luggage of the person who can't be bothered to follow the rules.

Whichever person you spoke to at DCL was absolutely incorrect and should be reprimanded for giving out wrong information.
