For anyone who knows...what are the age/height requirements for a child to be able to drive his/her own watermouse boat? Thanks.

This was taken from www.allearsnet.com:

Sea Raycers -- small craft that can speed up to 22 mph. Minimum age is 12, height requirement is 5 feet. Combined maximum weight limit for all passengers is 320 pounds. All drivers under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign a release. Drivers 18 years of age must provide ID with birth date. $24 per 1/2 hour.

Hope this helps! :teeth:

Yes, there are age requirements. I am not sure what they are. When we went in 2000 they were lower and my boyfriends son was able to drive one himself. I believe he was 12 at the time. When we went back (either New Years of 2001 or 2002) - I can't remember, he was not allowed to drive it. This made it really difficult as he had done it in the past by himself. They must have raised the age on other things also because in 2000 we took one of the surry bikes at the Boardwalk and he was allowed to be the driver and when we went back, he was not. I really did not understand this about the bike as it is just a bike and we were in the bike with him. I understand it about the boats as I guess you should really some of the laws. You might want to check different places. I seem to remember the boats at some of the resorts (maybe CB) are slower than the ones you can get other places (WL) At the CB you can only stay on their property. At the WL you can go into the lake by the MK and there are alot of larger boats. The age might be lower at CB.

Does anyone know if the 12 year old / 5 ft. limit is still acceptable? We are staying at the Poly & my husband & son would love to do this together. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Rent from the monorail resorts, they are faster.

I think that's the difference- the resorts on Crescent Lake (Boardwalk & Beach/Yacht Club) rent slower "Water Mouse" boats: you just need to be 12 & 5 feet tall. The Bay Lake "Magic Kingdom" resorts (WL, CR, Poly, GF) have the faster "Sea Raycer" boats, which require at least one person in the boat to have a driver's license.

How many people can fit in the sea racer boats? There will be three of us: 2 adults, 1 child.

The Sea Raycers have a two person, 320 lb. limit.

DW and I were thinking of renting one, but we're barely over the weight limit. Imagine renting a boat, and SINKING it... how embarassing! :boat:
