Water Mania is Closed!

Just got back from our trip to Orlando! Based on the information in the Unofficial Guide to WDW, we decided to try out Water Mania one day to avoid the crowds at the Disney water parks.

After making a few wrong turns due to some road construction detours in the area, we finally found the park. Unfortunately, all that is left is the sign and a pile of rubble. This water park has been ripped down to make room for condos.

So, we ended up back at Typhoon Lagoon and we had a great time - although we probably didn't really get the full value 'cause we didn't arrive until the afternoon.

Anyway, hopefully this will save a couple of folks from making a wasted trip to Water Mania!

yes they closed it a year or so ago.

wet n' wild is still open for now.

but their lease will run out I think this year....

Spicey - Wet N' Wild (Orlando) is owned by Universal and there has been no talk of it closing. In fact they have added new features each of the past three years. It would be very unexpected if it were to close. Water Mania had been on a downward spiral for 5 years since Westgate took it over. Over 1/2 of it was closed down even when it was "open".

While Water Mania is no longer open as of September 2005, the only memory that you may still find is their web site!

Wow, I hadn't a clue! Even though that place had started to become run down we still had alot of fun there, years ago... kinda sad
