Ok so last tiem i went in may we bought water bottles. I dont trust water unfiltered just because ive always liked bottled water more.

Now im thinking about banging some but not alot this time as we want to bring Pepsi with us because we dont like coke. So what about this

Brita Bottle with Filter - do these work? can i really just fill the bottles up with water and then it be safe to drink? do they work has any one here used them?
If we got a twin pack would this be better then carrying lots water bottles with us?

(we are gona freeze like 4 or 6 for in the cooler back pack we get to keep things cool on the bus first day and then use those water bottles mon or Tuesday after they unfreeze but i hate running out water and sending hubby to go to quicky mart ok or ampm places to get water

The tap water is perfectly safe to drink. Honestly, I think it tastes gross, but it's not going to hurt you.

If you really want bottled water in the parks, stop by Target and get a giant flat of it to keep in your hotel room - much cheaper than buying water in the parks and easier than dragging around a filter.

There is nothing unsafe about tap water. In fact, tap water has to meet a much higher criteria of testing than bottled water. It sounds like you just don't like the taste of tap water. In that case, a Brita filter won't necessarily change it, since Brita doesn't filter out all that many things.

concur! or even a gas station to buy a flat... .still cheaper than in the parks. :thumbsup2

cant buy at target or anything i take a bus there. and in the park we get free water and ice at all the cs places we pass. I worry more about in the hotel room but if i buy one of the filter water bottles will they work. Has any one used them or is it a waist of 10bucks

so from everything being said here i can just refil bottles at the park and if i need to drink water from tap at hotels it seems the citys water isnt bad, so maybe just save the money on bottles get the one villins one im planing on getting for hubby and son to share (with melifcent on it lol) and just get a few water bottles but if run out just drink from tap or refil at park and there you go?

I concur, Anaheim's tap water is extremely safe. If taste is an issue, you could bring little packets of Crystal Light or Zip Fizz to pop in your bottle when you have it refilled. I also find the water tastes better if it is extremely cold, so I usually fill a Camelback or an insulated water bottle (the ones we use for biking work well) with ice at the hotel, and then top it off with water. It stays really cold that way, as the ice melts throughout the day.
One other thing you can do if you are feeling ambitious is ask for a slice of lemon in your ice water in the parks, and then add it to your bottle or Camelback. That infuses the water with a hint of lemon, and is really refreshing!

oh no taste isnt an issue i love water ill drink it when i dont have Pepsi ive just always been told tap water isnt that good and here in phx i can defiantly taste the differences some times i must drink tap water but idk why i though calis water was just bad, but reading that artical and hearing from you all. i may jsut bring normal bottles frozen one or two for the bus ride and then when waters gone just refil it at parks or tap at hotel i dont know why im always worried bout it. TY tho ill skip the filter water bottle now

If you're concerned about what's in the water, a PUR filter is much better (gets more out) than a Britta. Tap water has a lot of chlorine.

This is why I don't like the water at DL. The chlorine, it makes the water taste funny.

I don't like water at Disneyland unless it is ICE cold. The fountains are not cold enough and once the water temp goes up it just doesn't taste good.

The 7-11 at the corner of Katella and Harbor sells flats of bottled water (their #1 selling item). That is much closer than the Target on Harbor, and you could take it back to your hotel room. We've done that, but I don't know where you will be staying, so YMMV. Also, as stated above by 3M1M, the water at the first aid stations is cold and filtered. We refill our water bottles there every time. The first time I did that, DH didn't even know the water wasn't bottled. There are water bottles with a filter straw available on Amazon and other sites. We have those, too, but buying the flats for the hotel and refilling bottles at first aid are easier for us. Drinking Anaheim tap water won't hurt you -- it's just a matter of whether you like the taste.

I guess with all this talk of bottled water, I'll use this opportunity to let you know that if you're going to buy bottled water, please please please please please please please put it in a recycling bin when you're finished rather than throwing it away in a trash can. I always recommend using a refillable water bottle to cut down on waste. Plastic bottles are really horrible for the environment.

it might just be me but when I am away from home period, that means in another city, state, or country, i always drink bottled water because regardless how good the water tastes or is, I have found that what you drink at home is still going to be different than what you drink elsewhere because your body is accustomed to it one way and then you go outside of that and theres no way it can be the same...Ive been all over the US and to 3 different countries and years ago I noticed that I would have problems with my digestives causing me to run to the restroom frequently so someone told me about not drinking local water (not talking about out of country...thats a given) and when i started drinking bottled instead I never had problems so for me I will always drink bottled water when out of town...btw, the water fountain at the first aid stations are filtered and very cold...great place to fill up the bottles:goodvibes

Article on Anaheim's water quality. Evidently they won an award a while back for one of the top 5 best tasting waters in the country.

That just says sad things about the tap water in the rest of the country! Bleah at Anaheim water!

We were just in Phx before going to Anaheim, and Phoenix water is even worse tasting than Anaheim's, LOL.

BUT it's not going to hurt you. If you're getting something like Dasani or Aquafina, you're just getting local-to-the-bottler water, put through filters. And at Disneyland, they take local water, and filter it. So...exact same thing.

But we get arrowhead. Better than Aquafina which is better than Dasani... (wish they had Zephyr Hills in Anaheim!)

ya another reason tog et the bottles from amazon or at least one is so wont use many plastic bottles and yes i do recycle when i can. ty tho i think 8buck for pure water bottle 24oz isnt to bad and id use it here at home too when running around to docs and stuff like that also gona get the bottle from disney shopping.com normal water bottle but i can always filter water from my bottle and fill hubbys up with that water lol. we are staying quality inn so i dotn want hubby to walk to 7 11 to get water if i can just filter it

Thank you Sonnyjane. Your post is one that helps everyone in the world by greatly reducing waste, energy consumption, oil consumption and water consumption.
