Can you get free water at CS restaurants?:confused3 I think I read that somewhere. We always take water bottles but it would be one less thing to carry.

Yes, you can ask at any CS and they will give you a cup of water w/ice.

We've never done it. We use our snack credits to get a bottle of Smart Water, tastes much better than tap water.:thumbsup2

You could probably answer this question on your own... =) (no offense to disney world, i love it but-) Is ANYTHING free at Disney World?
If you do find a place for free water please let me know, though. =)

It is free..water and ice ..but tap.

Am I the only one that finds the tap water and ice to be disgusting at Disney? Especially at MK? I am by no means a water snob, I drink plain tap water at home, at restaurants, whatever, but I cannot stand it there. It tastes like I just dipped a cup into a lake and drank it, yuck! The rest of my family didn't feel the same way, so who knows!

it's not just Disneyworld...no offense to residents, but we find Florida water awful, everywhere. Strong sulphur taste everywhere...we've stayed at Gainesville, beach near Tampa, Mt. Dora, Tallahassee and Disneyworld. All levels of hotels at WDW, and mid to luxury range hotels - tap water was yuck everywhere.

I could make out the smell of the water in a blind smell test.

The water tables in FL are so different that then rest of the country. And a higher concentration of sulfur sometimes exists. And it tends to be harder than average, too.

Everyone I know that lives down there has a bottled water service or they put some special type of filtration system in place.

I've notice the free water tastes better at some CS than others same with TS too so if no line it's worth a shot or if gettin food it's worth trying. You can always pour the water off an eat the ice.

I actually don't mind the water and we do stop by and get free water sometimes... however just a warning, those CS lines can get long! We've waited up to 15 mins for a free cup of water.:rotfl:

We get the ice water at almost all of our meals. I ask them to use mostly ice & it usually tastes fine. I believe it's the same ice they use for the soda, so probably brought into the location from outside??

the only place I usually get water is at Casey's when my friends and I were trying to spend under $5 for a day's full of entertainment......it was the cheapest form of entertainment in Orlando!!! I think the water tastes fine, ice water always tastes better than straight water to me.....but the only water I can tell the difference is Acqua Panna from Italy and acqua frizzante.....other waters usually taste all the same......

at my house we get it from the tap....we are simpletons :)

I use the free CS water/ice to mix with the kids kool aid packets. They like it just fine. I've had the water over ice by itself and it's okay. It's the same "taste" you get in their fountain drinks. It's different than my water at home but it's not that bad. :rotfl:

There are so many types of add in flavor packets you can buy today for water- tea, lemonade, fruit punch, kool aid. We've stocked up and are ready for our free water! We don't want to carry water around in our packs all day...

From what I've read, you can get free ice water anywhere at Disney. We only did this once at a snack cart at DHS and they gave us the water in a tiny plastic cup. Is that typical? I was hoping for a regular size cup, but didn't want to debate the issue.

It's FL water in general but I've found it's extra gross from the fountains in DW. I don't know about the tap water in the CS places because I haven't gotten any. I have asked for a cup of ice a few times and they gave it to me no problem. It didn't taste as bad as the water. That could be because I put it in a water bottle with a kool aid packet :rotfl: .

My mil lives in St. Pete and the water from her tap smells like clorox and tastes like I don't even know what. DW fountains and the hotel tap have that lakey taste you mentioned. Ick.

We always refill our water bottles with free ice & water, and the only place we've encountered the tiny cups was also at DHS. Other places will sometimes start off giving regular small drink cups, and will usually replace them with larger ones when we ask. Sometimes if they insist on the small cups, we just say "OK, then we'll take 6 please!". No problem! :thumbsup2

And we've been fine with the taste except for one time, I think from Cosmic Rays. It was just not good, so we dumped it out and got water from somewhere else.

In regards to the taste. we bring along a bunch of single packs of crystal light. Tastes much better and not as much sugar as koolaid :cool1:

Yep, you can ask for a free cup of ice water at any CS or snack place that has fountain sodas.

I was really worried about the taste of the tap water at Disney given all the negative posts here, but I thought it was fine. I usually only drink water and got tap water at every meal and even drank it from the tap in the room (POR) with no problem. So, to anyone who reads this and is concerned about the taste, just try it first and you might not have a problem with the taste either.
