Water fountains

For those suggestion just leaving the water bottle behind and depending on the counter service free water, remember the OP is going when he/she has already said they are probably going to encounter lines even at counter service places.

It's not a very nice thing to avoid the line just to go up and ask for a free cup of ice water at a counter service place. What that does is takes the server person out of their routine of filling orders for customers who have already paid for something before you got there.

So, if the OP wants the free counter service water, he/she should go through the regular line, place the order with the cashier and then move ahead as normal to pick up the water at the counter.

My feeling is the OP wants to avoid that and just fill up from a water fountain with no wait at all.

I go to the parks almost every weekend and I usually wait in line to get a cup of water, time and time again the cm at the register has told me to just walk to the front and ask for water, they have them ready so the person at the fountain doesn't have to fill one up. I now just go to the side openings and wait for a cm to bring someone's food and ask, and they just grab the ones that are already poured

I also fill my camelback full with ice at the food court in the morning and as it melts, I have cold water to drink. I refill with a cup of ice at lunch or dinner.

The one water fountain that always has cold water is the one inside Epcot at the International Gateway.

I fill up my water bottle from the fountains all the time at Disney. The water isn't super cold, but it's better than being dehydrated. That said, I've learned that the water fountains inside Star Tours as well as near Casey's Corner are pretty cold. My basic rule is if the water fountain is inside or in the shade, it'll be colder than normal.

We fill ours at the fountains all the time too, don't mind the taste and not germaphobes! It would be nice if they installed some water bottle filling fountains like I am seeing now at airports.

Water bottle stations would be a dream come true. Seriously.

As a rule of life I don't use drinking fountains-anywhere.

I've used those often at SLC but haven't seen them elsewhere. So nice for filling a bottle!

We have no issue using the water fountains at WDW. If the water is warm it should help to let it run for 10-15 seconds.

I have lived in Orlando - visited Disney a lot over the summer and filled my bottles from the fountains all the time. The water was tolerable - some fountains are cooler than others- it is Florida in the summer - so drinking water is crucial. I also waited in line at CS places for ice water and brought two frozen bottles with me to the parks. All of that together was enough to keep me hydrated. Plus the splash zones are good place to keep cool.
