I find that my coffee tastes much better if I use bottled water, but hauling those gallons of water from the car to the villa really adds to our grocery load - sometimes I forget that whatever we buy at the grocery store we have to haul to the room!:faint: Sometimes that can be quite a haul. Has anyone ever used a water filter, and if so is it just as good as using bottled water?

You might consider one of those water filter pitchers that you pour water into and it seeps through a filter into a pitcher.

We have done this before because at our home we have VERY hard water. We live very close to a lyme mine and it is heavy in our water, so we always drink bottled water. But the last 3 years we have flown to WDW. We packed a pitcher (rolled in clothes the last 2 trips because the 1st one got broken- Thanks TSA!). This worked out well for us. The water tasted just like the bottled water we usually use.

Just did a Brita pitcher in January. it worked great! Well worth the cost, although I abandoned it at the end of the trip.

I agree that Orlando water isn't the best. When I was testing out the concept of Owner's Locker, I kept a Brita water filter pitcher in my "Florida box" and used a new filter each trip. I would also keep a couple of ice cube trays since the water makes some pretty rotten ice as well!

We have a Brita pitcher and ice trays in our OL, too.

yeah.. i always bring a case of poland spring in my car. I think Orlando water is too Hard.

I packed a Brita pitcher in my carry-on for making breakfast in 2007. I usually used bottled or jugged water, but I wasn't renting a car. I packed the pitcher full of my tea bags and oatmeal packets and whatever other kitcheny items fit in it. It worked very well. However, I did get pulled over in security in Detroit because of the filter. I just had to pull the pitcher out of my tote and show them the filter (which was new and sealed in the packaging). The security stop actually didn't take that long, and I'd rather have that than the filter pinging security on my checked bag and prompting a bag search.

Yep another Brita Pitcher person here. Worked great. Also bought a thermose(with built in straw) from Target that keeps water cold for 12 hours. Fill it up before we went to the park. It was great. Didn't have to buy bottled water!

I'd go with the Clear 2 O system. It fills much faster than Brita or any other water pitcher. It takes out more contaminents then any other filter and works better than Brita. Here is the website.

Lance Armstrong is a spokes person for the product as well.

We found a water bottle at Bed Bath & Beyond that can filter a lot of water. It worked great, the Disney carry straps fit it and we could refill it around all the parks. We saved a lot of money using it instead of buying bottle water the whole trip!

SSR/BVW/AKV coffee maker.. do they use cone filter or the flat bottomed/round ???

We have a water filter that we attach to the faucet when we get there. It fits easily in our Owner's Locker and even if you had to take it in a suitcase, it doesn't take much room.
