Water bottles on ship?

I know water bottles can only be in carry ons. Last time we drove to the port so we stopped and got water bottles to put in the carry on. This time we are flying (so no liquids in carry on) and taking the Disney transportation to port. Any suggestions? We want water for the stateroom and also for excursions. Even if they sell on board- it's probably expensive right?

I usually just take a refillable water bottle. You can buy bottled water. I don't know the price but it is more expensive than carrying on your own.

If you're staying somewhere on WDW property the night before the cruise instacart or amazon prime water to be delivered. Or take an Uber to a local wal-mart. A 24 pack of water is 39 on board!

Great idea. Take a cab to a local store from the airport, then board the DCL transportation when yuo return to the airport. Though the cost of the taxi may end up negating the cost savings on the water.

Honestly, I would just eat the cost of water once on board. But I'm not picky so I just drink whatever water comes out of the machines.

We just got off the Fantasy and had the same problem. Bought their cooler bag and 6 bottles of water was $21. Or you could by single ones for $2.00 This was set up where you wait to go on your excursion.

You could take a refillable water bottle and fill it where the pop is up on deck 9. I usually just fill a few cups and leave them in the fridge in the room so I can take my meds at night.

Buying the case of water on board was why too expensive to us.

You can also order bottle water packages through the Gifts and Amenities section of the Disney Cruise Line Website (go to My Disney Cruise drop down menu on the upper right side once your signed in and then go to In room Gifts). It's expensive at $9.75 USD for a 6-pack and $36.00 USD for a 24 pack. But if you can't make stopping at a store work, it's at least an option. You could even just buy bottles at the airport upon arrival. Cost could be less Than Disney onboard pricing.

I always buy the water package in advance, so the bottles are waiting in our stateroom upon embarkation. I wouldn't want to lug water around in a carryon bag until the rooms opened up.

We preorder a case before we step on the ship. It is expensive but I guess my mentality is if I am paying thousands of dollars on a great vacation, I won't let $40 upset me.

I'm usually a total scrimp/saver, but there are times when it's just easier to pay the premium. We'll buy the water package on board on the first day. But we'll only use it for excursions, so it's not like I'll have to keep buying lots of water.

For the in-room gifts pricing, also note that a 15% autogratuity will get added so price is the same as when purchased onboard. I usually purchase bottled water onboard, since I prefer the Evian to the Dasani and you usually can pick which you want if you do this. However, Evian is in half-liter bottles while Dasani is in 20-oz bottles, so probably a better buy in that regard.

We just use the water on the ship and bring our own reusable bottles. All the water on the ship is the same whether out of the bathroom tap or the dispensers at the soda station. It is as good or better than bottled water, quality-wise. I know it's convenient to have the bottled water, but it is costly and really no better than what the ship produces. I guess if you really need it it comes down to convenience vs price on buying it on board or not.

Another option depending on your cruise itinerary is to get by without the water bottles the first night and pick up water in port the next day.

Doesn't work some schedules but it's a sideways idea that's easy to forget is an option.

If you really want to bring your own water on board and are going directly from the airport to the port, your only option is to put water bottles in a checked bag (carefully wrapped, of course), not put a DCL tag on that bag, and claim the bag at baggage claim. You can then move the bottles to a carry-one bag, or use the checked luggage as a carry-on when you board the ship. You would need to transport the checked luggage to the Disney Cruise bus.

As others have said, though, it would be easier to just get water on the ship or in port.

With water being so heavy, be careful putting it in a bag you are checking with the airline. A 24 pack of 16oz bottled weighs around 25 pounds. Most airlines charge a hefty fee for a bag over 50 pounds. And depending on which airline you are flying, if packing a case of water means you have an extra bag to check, then the baggage fees could wipe out any cost savings for bringing your own instead of purchasing on the ship.
