I am going to Disney in August and I know it will be hot and humid. Are there places to fill water bottles in the parks? Can you bring in extra water bottles?

Yes, you can bring water, snacks, etc. into WDW. I personally wouldn't in August unless you're carrying it on a stroller & not a bag, as it's hot & carrying heavy water all day will weigh you down & make touring a bit harder. I always recommend carrying the bare minimum in the parks in summer. Buying Disney's water can cost a few extra dollars, but imo it's worth it in the summer.

Water is one thing Disney keeps the price reasonable. At $3.00 for 20 ounce Daisani. I buy instead of carrying.

You can also get cups of ice water for free from any counter service restaurant. We tend to start the day with a fresh bottle of water and then refill throughout the day with water from counter service.

We fill up at a fountain. Of which there are about a "billion" at WDW. And yes we like the water. We are from city water and this water ain't bad.

My husband and I bring a filtered sports bottle and we fill it constantly with free ice water from the counter service restaurants. The sports bottles are light weight and they make the water taste just like bottled water. I personally think it saves us a ton of money because I would go through 1 bottle of water every 1-2 hours during summer so that would save us at least $36.00 a day for the 2 of us. We are heavy water drinkers anyway, so when we are at Disney we go through a ton to stay hydrated.

A couple tips - if you bring water in, freeze it the night before, that way it will be nice and cold (and still a little icy) when you're ready to drink it.

Bring a bottle with the built-in filter (like from Brita). That will make the free water you get in the park more tolerable. It's awful.

I start the day with two water bottles I carry. If I have the option because I have a freezer - one will be frozen at the start of the day. On a HOT and HUMID day - I will have probably finished the first water bottle between leaving my resort room and getting on my first ride. That empty bottle hits the trash. The second one - I'll probably finish between mid-morning and lunch - and I might refill it at a water fountain or from a CS place. Then I will definitely refill it at lunch with ice water from my lunch place.

After that - it gets questionable what I do. I am usually done with the crap tasting water at Disney by mid-afternoon - and now I tend to buy a fresh bottle in the park. For me - it's a rare place at Disney that serves water that tastes okay - so the concept of refilling it with more crappy water tends to become less appealing - so I buy. I've had water at a couple table service restaurants that tastes okay - but most places it is the same, awful FL water.

I don't think the $3 a bottle is a reasonable price at all - hence why I do try to carry some of the water I will drink during the day. If you don't mind how FL water tastes - you can avoid buying it at all. If that's the case for you - I recommend a reusable container you can fill all day long - there are options in the parks to refill. We always have a bottle on us all day long in the heat.

In reference to the bad tasking water (which we have found varies DRAMATICALLY from place to place in the parks), we always grab one of those tiny bottles of koolaid squinty flavoring. Any water that isn’t to our liking, of our kids taste, gets a little squirt. It clearly doesn’t make it into actual koolaid but the slight flavoring is enough to mask that FL water taste and keep us hydrating. One little bottle will last our family of 4 more than an entire trip.

Is this an actual little squirt bottle of koolaid flavor? Do you find it at the kool aid section of a grocery store? Thanks!

I too do not find $3 waters affordable since we easily go through 6+ a day in June/July WDW trips. It's not that bad to carry a small collapsible cooler in a backpack because as the day goes on, it gets lighter from the bottles you have taken out. Plus we take turns carrying it. When we go, I buy 2 cases of water and it lasts whole trip. So $10 vs $100...you do the math. That leaves a decent amount for souvenirs or treats :smickey::mickeybar

We always carry a couple of bottles and refill regularly. We drink a lot of water throughout the day so buying bottles isn’t feasible for us. For sure in AK the Starbucks has ice water in a canister and we refill there every time we walk by.

I agree with this 100%. We also bring some flavour chrystals or Mios to mix it up.

There are water fountains.
Bring as many water bottles as you wish although personally if I brought any it would just be 1 and I'd refill when needed.
In the past couple of years I have really limited the number of things I bring into the parks so I just walk up to a QS counter and ask for a free cup of ice water. They have them at the ready and you don't have to wait in the ordering line to get it.

We take Thermos insulated bottles and packs of hydration mix.
They can be refilled anywhere water is sold/given away.

We drink too much water through the day for $3/bottle. We just bring in refillable bottles. We like hydroflask, they keep the water cold.
