Water bottle fill up?

Still good. How big of a bag should I pack. :thumbsup2

I'll also start driving on the wrong side of the road. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: Youll need a big bag and clothes for wet and cold weather! :lmao: Believe me I would rather be in Disney now! Filling my water bottles :rotfl2:

You can go at any time to any counter service restaurant and get a free cup of ice water. You don't have to buy anything. Do this when you are thirsty and you don't have to carry around a bottle all day.

(Agree with PP that the water from the water fountains is gross!)

My DF makes fun of me all of the time for this, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that by going to any of the quick service areas that they provide you with a full-sized cup of free water. We had gone during the "Not So Scary" party when I felt very parched and asked the employee at Casey's Corner if I could have a cup of water, and had become so excited when I was given it in one of the Disney halloween decorated cups. I know it was silly, but i was so happy.

he is my DF, and yes i make fun of him everyday for this. All of the quick service locations will give you a free 16oz cup of ice water, so no need to buy bottle water. And yes, during the special events you can get the special cups too . :rotfl:

2 additional suggestions - look for water fountains that are attached to buildings versus stand alone as they tend to be colder. Also we bring packets of ice tea/lemonaide on the go to deal with the taste.

Unless you use a water bottle with a filter, you won't want to drink the water at Magic Kingdom. We usually get cuts of water, run it through out water bottle filter and then add Crystal to make it drinkable. The water in all the other parks is fine.

The water fountain water in the Magic Kingdom is by far the worst of all the parks. Probably because it is the oldest system and made before the modern drinking water standards on taste and clarity. The Adventureland/Frontierland side of the park is also the worst in the MK.

Thanks for all the advice folks :thumbsup2 So stay clear of fountain water at MK and ask for it over the counter there, but all other parks should be ok! Cool :cool1:

We use the collapsable bottles. They fold up nicely to fit in your pocket. http://vapur.us/shop/classic/5l
We do use the drink packets but have never really had an issue with the drinking fountains....just depends on what your used to in your home town.
Good luck!

I am water picky, and I agree cups at the cs were just fine except the qs in China, they had prefilled water cups and it must have come from a tap because it was tepid and nasty. The only other water I had that was bad was at the poly at the Luau, I figure both places were probably using water pitchers filled from the tap.

Everyplace else I just walked up and got a cup of ice water, but I got water at just about everyone, even if I wasn't thirsty. It was September and humid and I figured it was better to be welllll hydrated. So any time I saw a counter without a line I got water. Never was thirsty and I kept a steady pace all week without feeling worn out like you do when you get dehydrated.

They always say if you are thirsty you are already dehydrated. Thats why a bottle is good since you can't always get to CS to get a cup of water. As I posted above we used the Britta and and no problem.

One thing for people who say they have no problem with the taste. I have heard from locals that the taste varies by the season.

The hotter the weather the warmer the water is out of the tap. Warmer water dissolves minerals better so it can be nastier in the summer. Just wanted to warn people that may only travel in the winter months and if they go in the summer they may get a nasty surprise.

We always take at least one bottle, sometimes more depending on the time of year. We also take either Mio water flavoring, single serve Kool-Aid or Crystal Light packets to flavor the water from the water fountains.

If you can, try to freeze 2 unopened bottle per person when you visit during the hot weather days and expect to stay all day. They slowly melt during the day and you just add fountain water as you need. Always cold water at hand this way.

Also, be careful what fountains you use... I know there's no way to find out, but we've seen some pretty scary stuff going on in the water fountains!

The worst was a mum washing her baby off in a fountain so she could put a clean nappy on! Disgusting, and makes me paranoid about what else happens! I have a habit now of leaving the water running for a few seconds before drinking, and my lips never touch the tap!!

Also seen people washing their feet, their crocs, kids putting their fingers over the tap to make sprays... Always makes me think twice now! :scared1:

I always tell people my aversion to public fountains comes from my years as a teacher, once you've seen kids French a fountain to get a drink it's just never any thing but a last resort.:rotfl:
