Are water hoses attached to the spigots, or do we need to bring our own? And, is the water at the spigots safe to drink or cook with?

Thanks!

Most sites do have hoses attached to the spigots and the water is safe to drink.
However, I would not drink from the hoses that are already there, I would attach my own hose and use that.
For me it's just a personal thing,,ya just don't know how the previous guest may have used that hose and I'm not real partial to germs.

If you do bring your own hose, make sure it is the type used for drinking water. Don't use a regular garden hose.

It's safe to drink but does have that Florida sulfur smell and taste to it. If I make coffee I use bottled water instead. Next trip going to try a filter on my hose or filter pitcher to run it through first to see if that helps. Would rather not buy bottled water if at all possible.

For "new" campers, potable water hoses are white with a blue stripe. They have them at camping supply stores, home depot, lowes, boating stores, etc.

We tent camp quite a bit in state parks and if we use the spigot water, we always use a microfilter... it doesn't kill any protozoa, but will eliminate most bacteria, and the spigot water there is safe. We've looked at some level 1 filters (which kills viruses and bacteria) for when we backpack camp in the middle of no where... in case we have to use natural resources... but they are very expensive. I'm sure I'll need nothing that elaborate at FW, right?

I'm thinking a brita water filter pitcher would be fine? Our coffee maker has a built in water filter. As long as it's safe... I'll figure out the taste thing I suppose. I'm sure with our own drinking hose will help as well.

Our past FW camping has been using our neighbors RV... which we loved in the middle of summer. But, I'm very excited about being in the tent.

Thanks for the info.

I would think a Brita pitcher would be fine, I just purchased a Pur at Target as they had a great deal on the pitchers and replacement filters at least for this week.
They both have charcoal in them which should greatly help the taste and are supposed to filter out all that other stuff you mentioned. But I'd hope for the most part that stuff wasn't already in the Disney water!:thumbsup2

We attach something like THIS the fresh water hose when hooking the TT up to the water supply wherever we go.

We do bring bottled water to FW, but only because of the aforementioned taste issue, not safety. We have drunk the water there, used it for brushing teeth, etc., with no problems.

That green hose at the camp site is used for cleaning the site after a guest leaves. Guests use them to rinse out sewer hoses. Don't ever trust them for potable water. The other side of the dual faucet is for you to connect your nice new clean white hose to. ;) We use a filter also to at least make us think we're getting cleaner water into our MH. And when you finish using your white hose, drain it and fasten the ends together to prevent intrusion by who knows what. Next time you use it, rinse a little clean water through it before connecting to your rig or using the water for whatever clean purpose.

The green hoses left at the site have the ends cut off on them. They're not meant to be used for connecting to the a trailer. I've used it to rinse off/clean cookwear, but I also use antibacterial dishsoap for cleaning.

I don't mind the taste of the FW water:)
