Watching Wishes from the Contemporary

We're looking for new spots to watch Wishes from. We're going to see it once from in front of the Castle, because we want to (my favorite view in all of WDW is standing in front of the castle when it's all lit up and then turning around to see Main Street in lights). But we're likely to see Wishes a few more times during our trip. We've seen it from the TTC several times, from the area around Hall of Presidents, the Joe Potter and even a bit of it from Splash Mountain. Never done the Poly beach, which we plan to do. I wasn't even aware you could see them from the Contemporary. We don't need to be guests there to access the viewing areas, do we? What floor is it on? How crowded does it get?

4th floor observation deck. I am not sure how crowded it gets, but it might change from day to day or season to season.

We stayed at BLT and observed Wishes from the top floor. It was one of the best experiences of our trip.

It's on the 4th Floor which is the main floor of the hotel. Honestly it's not that great of a viewing spot. It's off center, partially obstructed by the monorail and it's hard to hear the piped in music. If you are going to be at the CR for another reason, then it works, but I wouldn't travel there for it. If you do, try to get there early and grab the spot in the left corner if you are facing the MK.

What spot is "BLT", drawing a blank at the moment. Can anyone go?
**EDIT** Got it, BLT is Bay Lake Towers. Second question still stands though...can anyone go up there, or only guests staying there? We're staying off property.
We had no special plans to go to the CR, just looking for new spots to see Wishes

The lounge in BLT is for DVC owners only. But the Contemporary has the California Grill restaurant and lounge on the 15th floor with the viewing deck.

If you dine at the Contemporary they allow you to come back to their private deck to watch wishes that day.
Just need to keep your dinner receipt.
If you are dining around the time of wishes you can just walk outside to the deck.

At the Contemporary, there is viewing on an outdoor
observation area on the 4th floor.

The California Grill observation areas are reserved for patrons that day of the Grill or Bar.
(The audio of the fireworks show is also piped in to these locations.)

You can also view from all the floors above 4th as well on smaller platforms

Just to throw this out there: the walkway directly in front of BOG is a very immersive location, and not very crowded for the show.

We stayed at the Contemporary in April and watched from the 4th floor observation deck a few times. I honestly wouldn't recommend it unless you are staying there and just want to wander over and catch some of the show. Better view is from the outside stairways on the same end of the building. Just go up a few floors and you won't have the crowds or the monorail beam obstructing your view.

We saw Wishes from the 4th floor deck at the CR when we were there at Easter - we'd just finished dinner at Chef Mickeys so we happened to catch the fireworks. The view area is good if you're already in the CR for something else - really nice to just walk out there and see them after dinner. I'm not sure I'd make a special trip to see them from there though - lol! I did see people up on the stairwell higher up watching them.
