Does anyone know of free (and legal!) websites that would allow me to watch some TV shows online?

I know I can watch Disney shows on disney.com - I'd love to watch other things too!

Thanks so much!

Crystal

Most networks have shows available. Just go to abc, nbc, cbs, fox, whatever .com and look up the show you want. Are you looking for older shows that they don't have?

I no longer pay for the "big" package of TV because I watch everything online commerical free and when it is convenient for me. I watch all the networks and MTV the most. I save about $50.00 a month by doing this.

You can also watch some of the soap operas on-line - from what I've been told..

We just discovered online TV last week...so no more need for a Tivo!
The picture is clearer, and when they do have commercials, it is less than 60 seconds. AND- no more staying up becasue the show doesn't start until 10!

I just go to the network website and find what I'm looking for. My computer hooks up to my TV so I can watch it online but on my TV. Love it!

I just recently discovered the networks have their tv shows on their websites too. I love it. Now I don't have to worry about missing shows anymore. After vacation, I was able to catch up on Heroes and some other shows. And it does save 15 minutes of time because most shows are only 42 minutes long without commericals.

I just started watching fancast.com I really like it they have a ton of shows for free new and old movies too. I also watch my soaps on cbs.com. Fancast.com also has cartoon network, noogin, and disney shows.

Hulu.com is awesome. right now it's primarily programming and movies from nbcu and fox, but i read something the other day about how the other networks might be looking to get onboard.

Oh goodness. I wish I never opened this thread.
I MUST NOT try this.
I alreayd dis at work. If I dis'ed and watched tv on the computer it could be leathal! Nothing would get done and I work in a VERY busy office (yes, I still find time to dis LOL) I will close this thread immediately and not come back :surfweb: (Well until later or tomorrow)

How do you do this??? What do I need to buy to make this happen???

It depends on the model of TV and the model of cvomputer.
We have a DLP TV, which has HDMI inputs, so we just plug it in like the monitor.
The only downside (or upside) is now we have to make a choice between computer or TV, since you can't do both at the same time!

Our cable and computer are both hooked up to the tv. My dh did this I wouldn't know how. But I am sure if you asked at best buy they could tell you what cables you need.

If your TV has an RGB input (most of the HDTVs on the market do), you can just buy a generic computer monitor plug, plug it into the monitor output on the back of your computer (or laptop in my case) and plug the other end into the RGB input on the TV.

Places like WalMart or Target have these RGB cables for about $20 or so. It's a pretty common thing now so the folks in the electronics department should be able to help you out easily. :thumbsup2

Anything for BBC America shows? I'm trying to catch up on Life on Mars at the moment.

Thank you! Off to wal-mart/target tomorrow! :dance3:

I'm a fan of www.surfthechannel.com Instead of uploading the shows directly to their website, they link to where it's been uploaded elsewhere. I'm able to see all the episodes of West Wing that I never saw during its run, and also able to catch up on some of my shows before they're uploaded on the network sites. My one issue that I don't care for is that MegaVideo (which they commonly link to) opens a "Adult Friend Finder" page every time I click play. YUCK. But there's enough other sites that you can avoid it, or you can quickly close the window (my preferred strategy).
