Make me want to see that movie even less than I already did. Apparently DP, DD and I are one of the few on the planet who have not seen it.

We haven't seen it, but keep saying we need too.

I do think it is one of those movies that you need to see at the theater.

Might go next weekend

:lmao: My DH & I were just saying that. We haven't seen it either, and the previews don't look that interesting to me. But everyone I've spoken to that have seen it says its very good but LONG.

The movie has a lot of political undertone. Additionally if you don't like being shown how a lot of humans on this planet already act (socially irresponsible), it's probably going to be a little disheartening.

That said, I LOVE the movie.

You're not alone. My family hasn't seen it nor do we intend to. Just doesn't look good to me, and the plot is nothing new. I'll pass.

Boy, I felt the same way....until I saw it! I can't describe how beautiful this movie is! I've seen it twice and would love to see it again.

Zero interest in seeing a movie about a bunch of skeevy-looking blue people.

I had no desire to see it either. But I did, and it was AMAZING!!!

DH took the three kids to see it and couldn't believe that I had ZERO interest in seeing it. They loved it but the whole thing just didn't appeal to me. The plot as presented in the previews seemed tired to me.

You're not alone. I hate hate HATE sci-fi, 3-D, and anything with CGI. My DH is dying to see it, but I told him he'd have to find somebody else. I sat through 2 of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and thought i was gonna absolutely die of boredom if I didn't go in the bathroom and hang myself.:headache: And don't get me started on Harry Potter  I have no interest in seeing Avatar whatsoever; I don't even want to know the plot.

Yes, this is one movie that the trailer doesn't do justice. It'a movie that was made for the big screen.

I was drug into the theater to see it and I LOVED it.

Any movie, IMO, is hard to judge by a few clips on an award show or preview.

We really enjoyed it, though we didn't go in planning to. We went to see it because it's the first 3D movie our local theater had, and it was just $3.50 for a matinee! We didn't have high hopes but I really am glad I saw it.

Where The Wild Things Are was awful, in my opinion, and I had to see it twice! Blech. I'd rather see Avatar 100 more times than have to see Where the Wild Things Are once more. (Dh and I went to see it, hated it, then our school went on a field trip and I couldn't get out of it. Something about supervising my students or something...) :)

Wasn't to interested in seeing it either but DH wanted to see it so I went with him and I loved it. It pulled me in. And the scenery was beautiful.

I had absolutely zero interest in seeing this movie, but wound up having to go anyway. I will say, while I did not care for the approach the movie took with certain aspects of its plot line, visually, it was incredibly beautiful and I did enjoy the way the love story angle played out.

Interesting perspective-i didnt see it that way at all-its quiet visually stunning-the story is a canned plot line you can see in a number of disney films-pocahontas comes to mind-with a few neat scientific dod dads and some big explosions thrown in-to main themes-boy meets girl and white europeans are evil and distructive-can you say bambi?

Yes, we watched making of Avatar last night and altho I'm not into scifi, I can't wait to see the beautiful scenery and costumes in 3D in surround theatre ! :goodvibes

All of our family have seen it and loved it! DH took our DGS's and said it was amazing, he gave it an 11!! :thumbsup2
