Just wondering do they have the platform built yet that will let you watch the fireworks at DTD from SS?

I know they talked about this as a perk when we bought. Just wondering if it is there yet and how they looked. I don't think I've seen a post on this topic yet since people have come back from their stays there.

Yes, the pavillion is complete and available for enjoying fireworks or just appreciating the lake view at the resort. It has rocking chairs available for seating.

The tours arranged for MH/Founders Day included a walk along the waterfront, along the section with the best view of PI, and all I remember seeing was a wide walk, no platforms. Possible I missed it however.

(edit) Ah, pavillion, not platform, THAT I remember, that's right off the 'leisure'(quiet) pool, right?

Is that like 6 chairs I see, for the largest DVC resort to date?

Why not more chairs?

I think the chairs are there mostly for esthetics- to evoke the style of similar areas at Saratoga in it's time.

The pavillion is not likely to ever be too busy (the fireworks are only for about 2 minutes at midnight), but there is adequate viewing room without the need for seating- a'la Illuminations at EPCOT.

The pavillion provides a nice setting to sit and relax during daytime hours or enjoy the fireworks at night. We found our balcony provided a great venue to watch the pyrotechnics- and be back asleep within minutes! ;)
