We are going at the end of August to the Poly and was curious as to how packed the beach area at the Poly gets to watch the MK fireworks. Hopefully, it doesn't get too packed.

We were there in February and watched the fireworks from the beach. It was packed. People started claiming spots over an hour before the fireworks started. That said, there was room for the late arrivers but they were definitely pushed further back by the Volcano pool.

While it can be packed by the pool area which is admittedly a slightly better view, if you are closer to TTC you generally have the beach to yourself (sans music). Also, if they haven't blocked it off for construction yet you can go toward VGF and that beach is usually less packed.

We watched from *in* the pool at the Polynesian. It was almost empty, was a decent view, and was definitely a cool experience.

Interesting. So, if you're in a DVC lake-view room in Moorea, you can't hear any music?

That is actually the room we were in. We had a 1st floor lake view room in Moorea. No, you can not hear the music from there. To hear the music, you have to go to the main beach at Poly. Because of that, the main beach area is the area that gets packed. We were going to watch the fireworks from our patio, but we decided that we wanted the "full experience" with music. If you don't care about the music, there are lots of places from which you can view the fireworks that aren't crowded.

We like to watch them from in the pool. I believe there is a TV channel that plays the music so you can have the music from your lake view balcony or patio.

Just did this on Tuesday night…the beach was packed! Some of the walkways near the pool were blocked off with construction barriers, so after the fireworks, the masses were funneled through the pool gates. It was crazy. It’s been several years since I’ve been at the Poly, and I seem to remember that area being more open? I remember getting a drink at the outside bar, but I’m certain it wasn’t inside the gated pool area.

There is also a hill that looks over the bungalows. We watched the New Year's fireworks from there on Dec. 30 and there were only a couple other groups. There are 2 benches and a large grassy area.

Good to know. Walked up there when we went and thought it would be a good spot to watch

We were there at 8:15 and grabbed 4 chairs up front. We turned around about 5 minutes before the fireworks and it was jam packed!
