Watched Princess and the Frog last night

My DS5 walks around sining the songs all day. He loves it. The whole family loves it! DS laughs so hard when the hunters come on. I like watching him watch the movie. It cracks me up!

Dh and I saw this on the Disney Wonder over Christmas and we both LOVED it. Once it was done, he turned to me and commented that he'd enjoy seeing it again before the cruise was over! We weren't able to, but we bought it as soon as it came out!

I actually was not expecting much from P&F since Disney's previous 2D animated films had let me down (Home on the Range, Treasure Planet, etc). Was actually very impressed with this one however, as it was a blast from the early 90's genre of Disney animated storylines. I thought the songs were good (not great), the characters were very likable, and the plotline screamed retro Disney which I grew up loving.

The show-stopper was definitely the villain (Dr. Facilier). Keith David blew that role away and did an excellent job voicing the witch doctor. And did anybody else notice how Facilier pulled some Michael Jackson dance moves during his musical number? Kinda clever how that was thrown in. But a great villain and fantastic animated movie.

Add me to the LOVED it list. It was great. I could watch it over and over. The animation, the voices, the whole thing, just great. I adored the music too. I had no idea how much I would like it when we bought the blu-ray but I was so impressed!

I may have to watch it again tonight after thinking about it. :rotfl:

I just watched this movie Saturday and while I thought it was cute I wouldn't go as far as to say it's the best Disney movie I've seen. The music is catchy and Charlotte was by far my favorite character.

I finished it last night and really enjoyed it! The story was cute and also, sometimes it's nice to see a typical classic Disney movie, complete with the hand-drawn animation. I agree with what the OP said in that I immediately thought of PO. I would love it if they incorporated a little bit of the movie theme into one of the resorts. I was so in love with the theme of this movie. Jazz-era New Orleans, the pretty fireflies in the bayou... so cute. POR is nice as-is, and I've never stayed at FQ, but it would be neat to have a Tiana's Place/Palace (I can't remember which it was) at one of the resorts. And Prince Naveen was my favorite prince. He was a really likable (albeit spoiled in the beginning) character!.

I LOVED Princess and the Frog—definitely one of the best movies they’ve made since the Renaissance ended. It made me tear up at the end (you know what part), and that takes skill. Also, Facilier was awesome, especially his song (it’s my ringtone!). His voice is to absolutely DIE for!

Disney, why can’t you go back to making stuff like this for good? Just because Avatar streamrollered it at the box office doesn’t mean Disney magic needs to die!

I agree with you! I really enjoyed the Princess and the Frog movie. I'm glad they went back to the old animated production. The storyline, music, drawings, animation, and location was excellent.

I LOVED this movie and I am so glad that Disney has another story that defines their ability. This has definately become one of my favorites and might even be tied with first (Beauty and the Beast)...

It was so well done and really captures the best of what Disney does- it has the awesome characters, a huge soundtrack where every song is good along with magical musical numbers and sequences that take you beyond the movie into the imagination of the writers... I was completely amazed!

When we bought this movie, we put in the DVD and hubby went off to play fantasy baseball online- he thought the movie would not be very good- and when he came in the living room he looked at the movie and said he'd better turn off the computer and come watch "so he'd know what's going on".... ;) We started the whole thing over for him and we all agreed when it was over it was one of Disney's best! :wizard:

PLEEEEASE disney could you plz make mre movies like this? Im DESPARATE for tangled to be like a classic. I love the characters and the plot.

seriously the soundtrack is beyond amazing! randy newman did an amazing job ( as usual) i love this movie cuz you just want to dance.

and i love naveen!!! to me he looks like a combination of Prince Eric and Aladdin!! :lovestruc it makes since cuz the creators of TLM also did this movie! :rotfl:

I love everything about The Princess and the Frog! I'm a southern girl, so I appreciate the good southern accents of the characters. I'm 33, and I made my mom go see this one in the theater. And of course, buying the DVD was a necessity! I agree that Tiana was such a strong female character, and I love Louis and Ray, maybe more than any other Disney sidekicks!

I loved the movie as well, as someone who grew up in the time of the disney movies like the little mermaid, beauty and the beast, it took me back. Charlotte was my favourite, everyone says she reminds them of me, which after seeing the movie actually made me take it as a compliment!! She was just such a nice person, and is going to be my halloween costume next year!! big BIG poufy pink dress, cant wait!! I agree, please disney keep them coming!!

I loved this movie! We saw it in the theater. The voodoo stuff kinda freaked out my daughter, but she watched it and did ok. I loved the working princess idea.
If you get netflix streamed on your Wii or Xbox, it's on there right now!

:rotfl: I can't stop singing "I'm almost there..." and saying, "I'd kiss a hundred frogs if I could marry a prince and be a princess!" hahahaha!

Just watched it again last week and I'm already itching to watch it again this weekend! My parents haven't seen it yet so I'm thinking I've got a good excuse. :goodvibes It's made my list of all time Disney fave's.

What are you waiting on! You'll love it!

Is it just me or does this movie remind anyone else of old school Disney animation? Everything from the music to the animation art. :thumbsup2
